Well, there is a difference between furries and catgirls, namely, catgirls don't have fur. I should stop talking now.

The graphical style looks cool, but the animation looks horrible, reminds me of an FMV from a Saturn or early PS1 game. Also, it would help if some gameplay was shown.

Yeah, the animations are awful. It looks like they're trying to create really fluid action scene, but lack the ability to do so.

I'm jumping on the "poor animation" bandwagon. Really, the screenshots seemed okay, but the trailer stamped on my incipient interest in this; I actually had the thought, "They're moving like CGI animation I saw 15 years ago!" We'll see if my interest comes back after reviews.

The screen shots in the gallery look kinda cool. Could be a generic side scrolling hack and slash but seems like it'd at least be one with personality.

You know, I like catgirls as much as the next weeaboo, but this still doesn't look good. Maybe it's the creepy Next-Life bad CGI? Or that the whole thing consists of what would appear to be well-rendered but static backgrounds? I dunno, but it's a bit too close to the uncanny valley.

Dude, It's a anime catgirl. That's not an uncanny valley, that's an Uncanny grand canyon. But it's the stiff animation that's more of a question here, Hopefully the ingame animation is smoother. The style kind reminds me of that cartoon Oban Star Racers actually. The CG even looks like the pilot animation trailer they did before the show came out.

Uncanny valley?

I don't think you're using that phrase right.

The uncanny valley is when something is so realistic it's almost impossible to differentiate from real life - but tiny little mistakes, almost impossible to detect on their own, create a vague sense of 'something isn't right here'.

The uncanny valley does not apply to cartoons, involving cat-girls or otherwise. ;]

To be specific the goal of photo realistic CG has been to cross the "valley" and reach a point where it's indistinguishable from reality. When you dont quite do it you fall into the proverbial valley.

X-blades was far more generic than this. Not that this isnt generic but atleast it looks like someone with an artstyle approaching an understanding of anime designed this.

I lost interest in X-Blades during the part where you're on that shore and have to kill like a billion of those stupid crab enemy things.

Too bad. I wanted to like it, too.

I agree that the character design of this is superior to that of X-Blades, at least when it comes to the main character, which is all I have seen of either game, more or less. I was very underwhelmed by X-Blades' main character design.

Interesting:
"Based on the web comic created by Steve Stamatiadis (creator of TY the Tasmanian Tiger), Blade Kitten is an anime adventure game of girls, swords and big robots.

Sometime in the future, somewhere that’s not Earth. Kit Ballard is a bounty Hunter and one of the best in the business. Together with her alien sidekick Skiffy and her sword, the Darque Blade, she hunts down rogue mechs and soft targets. Kit becomes the nexus of a tumultuous series of events on the strange planetoid known as DUEL CORE."

This reminds me of X-Blades.

That crappy "Hey we're making something anime-like, but we're not from Japan, aren't we creatively awesome?! Also, we assume "anime" means "TEH CAT GIRLS AND LACK OF CLOTHES!!" style.

Hey now, give X-Blades credit where it's due. The people who made it are all Russian. It's a pretty good game when you consider it was made by a bunch of morbidly depressed guys constantly drunk on Vodka.
