Capcom offers 50% off five PSN games; this week: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

While it's true that the high-rolling blogging lifestyle has left us out-of-touch with the needs of the unwashed masses, even the fat cats at Joystiq understand that everyone loves a deal (if only to free up some much needed capital for, let's say, a chronically underfunded game publishing division).

To help lighten the burden on your wallets, Capcom is offering the following: 50% off a single PSN game every week for five weeks, beginning with Marvel vs. Capcom 2. In total you could scoop up all five games for just under $30 and, since this is a 50% off sale, that also means you'll have saved just under $30. That's math. We've pasted the full list below for you to mull over:

February 18, 2010 – Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for $7.49
February 25, 2010 – Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for $7.49
March 4, 2010 – Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for $4.99
March 11, 2010 – Age of Booty for $4.99
March 18, 2010 – 1942: Joint Strike for $4.99

Those are some pretty good deals. Even though I own MvC2 for the 360, it wouldn't be a bad deal to get it on the Ps3 too.

I hope this becomes a trend on the PS3. I already love the deals on Steam.

Who cares I bought this FREE on XBox Live because of the Target FREE MS Points from the AXE Codes, And At least 8000 Free Microsoft points, from the CAG Doritos posting getting Text Codes, used alot of at&t store phones.

and I was deliberating weather to get this or buy UP (HD ver) HORRIBLE TIMING.

I have been burned a few times. A good rule of thumb that I subscribe to - never buy PSN games on a Wednesday.

Damn, if I only knew this sooner, could have saved $7 (which is a lot in this sh*tty economy) thanks for the heads up though.

Just make yourself a US account and buy it from the US store, once you install the game you will still be able to play it on your regular account just fine.

I might have to pick up one of those fighters. I sold my original MvC2 for xbox because of the dogshit D-pad (and I'm not paying for a fight stick) but I could probably get by on a dualshock...as long as I don't venture online.

Plus I've got like $30 in my PSN wallet and I've been waiting for a while for something decent to spend it on.

I think Age of Booty might have trophy support and I can confirm that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 does have trophies. SSF2T: HDR and 1942:JS (thats why I don't know this one) both do not have trophy support. I have no idea about the puzzle SF.

MvC2 is good fun, too bad it takes a long time to find anyone to play online anymore, PS3 version anyway not sure about 360.

Maybe i'm missing something here, but is this a PS2 game being released on PSN for download??

because I sent a Text to Doritos and Doritos sends me back Free Points thats not stealing I kept doing it until they stopped. Period.

I've been waiting for Age of Booty to drop down to $5 to buy it but I was kinda hoping for the XBLA version.

Trying to decide between SSF2 HD and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Haven't really played fighting games since Super Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat were kings . . . which one should I get if I'm only going to get one?

I would be playing mostly single player and local multi-player, so I'm not too worried about how good the online match-ups are.
