ESRB: Magic Carpet, Sorcerer's Maze materializing on PS3 and PSP

Last week, Xbox 360 owners got the first look at Fable 3, the newest Peter Molyneux game. Don't feel left out, members of the PlayStation Family -- you've got your own Molyneux game on the way! An old one!

The ESRB has rated the PlayStation version of Magic Carpet for release on PS3 and PSP, meaning it'll join last week's release of Populous: The Beginning as PSOne Classics at some point in the future. Why settle for being a king when, for the low price of $5.99, you could be a wizard on a flying carpet!

If that doesn't grab you, you'll also be able to pick up Sorcerer's Maze at some point. While not a Molyneux game (it's a low-budget Arkanoid-style game published by XS Games) it is also about a sorcerer (not sure about the "maze" part). And how can you refuse that box art, even in a digital version with no box?

I remember playing Magic Carpet for hours on my aunt's PC back in the day. For the longest time, it was the only game I played that wasn't on the SNES. Definitely picking it up on PSN for some nostalgia XD

Magic Carpet was amazing when it came out on the PC. Really a revolutionary title.

Yeah, that makes no sense, if there was no PSone B/C you wouldn't able to play ANY PSone games, downloaded or not.

As they mentioned all PS3 models are backward compatible with the PS1 and it plays happily my WarCraft 2 copy :)

Sorcerer's Maze has gotta be one of the lamest covers ever

It looks like an 80s movie that you would watch after the goonies.

Never heard of either game but would like for Sony to get the classic games like Parasite Eve for example.

How about we scratch stupid games like this, and get some, oh I don't know...Final Fantasy IX, Parasite Eve, Tony Hawk 2, etc?

Except for the choice few picking these up for an hour of nostalgia, no one cares about 80% of PSOne classics on PSN.

Stupid? Are you kidding? Magic Carpet was the first game ever to have modifiable environments. That was huge in it's time. Stop being such a FF fanboy.

Magic carpet was one of my favorite games of all time.

I dont think many of these games you want will be coming out due to the sole reason the psp needs to play them and alot of the games are dualshock. So untill a psp with dual analog and l2,and r2 is released i doubt many of the classic games will come out

Magic Carpet for ps1 did not support dual analog sticks. Can anyone confirm that this PSN version does?
I haven't played it for a few months but I still have the whole Magic Carpet series installed on my PC and it runs in dosbox pretty good.
The multiplayer in this game on PC was absolute madness...this game needs a full-on remake.
