Newegg drops prices on 50 Cent, Metal Slug 7, and more

Thanks to Newegg, you can grab 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand for a price closer than ever to 50 cents. As part of a "blowout" sale, you can pick up 50 for $9.99 on Xbox 360, or $12.99 on PS3 (a paltry 300 Cent more) with free shipping. If that's not the particular style of bullet-ridden gameplay you seek, why not grab Metal Slug 7 on DS for just $9? Or incite real violence in your home with Singstar -- available on its own for $10, or with two microphones for $25, with Volume 2 also down to $10.

Many of the other deals are questionable, but they're also cheap. Maybe you didn't care about Beowulf on PSP, but you probably care a little more now that it's $4. And $14 is a much more reasonable price for the chance to enjoy Castlevania Judgment's brutally insane cutscenes and actually kind of enjoyable gameplay. I just played 50 Cent within the last 2 weeks. It was a pretty decent game. Felt a little bit like Gear of War control wise.

I thought it was just a fun crack-up game - but I made sure to not have high expectations going into it.

Well I bought 50 cent: Blood On The Sand. I basically bought it because Justin McElroy is always blabbin' about how great it is.

Exactly what I was thinking. Now, the $10 price tag may have just pushed me off of the fence.

It's definitely worth $10...and now that it's so cheap, you might be able to convince a friend to buy it for co-op...which, unfortunately, I could never do.

All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Zoot Suit Jedi together again.

How come Folklore and Katamari Forever are still so damned expensive? Are they still full retail everywhere else? I'd definitely snap them both up for $10-15 apiece, but $30+ seems a little high.

I've been watching both of those for a while. PS3 games tend to stay expensive much longer than 360 ones. Heavenly Sword was still $40+ last time I looked!

Katamari Forever kinda makes sense since the game has only been out for like 6 months, but Folklore has no excuse.

My mistake actually, forgot to check the PS3 link. You can still get it for PS3 but the 360 version is sold out.

Blood on the sand was supposed to be pretty good. Ben gave it a good review, but had a bit of the problem with the juvenile 'adult' themes and language prevalent in it (apparently hes not a big fan of rap).

I would pick it up but i only have ten dollars. I'm thinking I'm going to get Flower instead. Any arguments there?

I don't know if you liked Flow or have played Flower, but the game is certainly not for everyone. Gameplay wise it's really simple and shallow, people tend to like it because they find it a "relaxing" experience and the visuals are top notch. It's described by it's creators as a poem. Personally, it's not my cup of tea. It's lacking in any sort of challenge or reward, but it's charming. There are people here that will swear by it and say it's the best game ever, but I guess that depends on what you're looking for in a game.

I don't know anyone who thinks Flower is the best game ever. It's not challenging, this is true, but it's much different from Flow and I'm not sure why people pretend they are the same game, with flower just being Mode 7 style.

they are similar in some general aspects, but are completely different in a lot of ways. Flower is a small, easy, gorgeous, enjoyable game that is a real bargain. It's no MGS4 or Fallout 3, duh. I think it's one of the few really good motion controlled games on the PS3, and I hated Flow.

I paid $15 for it a while back and I recommended it at these prices. Especially if you can find someone to co-op with.

It's not a masterpiece, but at these low prices, it's a sure buy.

I picked up 50 Cent and Bionic commando, both for less than $20 brand new? Hell yeah.
