This should make the PSP Go's price tag a bit easier to swallow. From now until March 21, new North American PSP Go owners that add a PlayStation Network to their systems will be eligible to receive a free game from the PlayStation Store: either Assassin's Creed Bloodlines or LittleBigPlanet PSP. After the registration process, SCEA will e-mail a special code that enables the free download.
The promotion is similar to one launched by Sony Europe a few months ago. Unsurprisingly, early adopters are feeling left in the cold. DevilDawg90 commented on the PlayStation.Blog: "This is unfair to people like me who picked up the PSPGo day one. I had to pay 40 for LBP PSP! I have been supporting Sony and this is just a slap in face."
Unfortunately DevilDawg, that's generally how technology works; it gets cheaper over time. In fact, the PSP Go is approaching affordable when considering the $50 discount Amazon.com is offering on it. At $200 with a free game, it's almost -- dare we say it? -- a good deal.

Hmmmm I bought one at Christmas and never got around to selling it. Havent bought any games yet.
Joystiq, what do you think? Should I just get rid of it now on ebay or keep it? I really didn't like it, felt it was a waste of money.

@Not THAT Matt
85%?
if that isn't a made up percentage it's going to decrease regardless as all the psp titles since Oct are available via PSN. I don't think anyone's missing out on "Dynasty Warriors: Poker/Pool Pet Farm"
All the good games are available on the PSN store anyway
.....cept maybe Valkyrie profile lenneth

Love how people talk about these "slaps in the face". Everyone expects something free when they purchase something.

I like how their "support" is supposed to be altruistic.
If they TRULY supported companies that do this, then they'd be happy to have been there from the start with no freebies. Afterall, more money in the "supportee's" pocket.
What I find more interesting is how stupid Sony and companies in general are sometimes. They should have done this at the start. It'd have been worth the money then. A lot of people have already made opinions about the PSP Go and while this wouldn't have changed everyone's opinion it would have helped a lot more then than now.

I agree. You want a slap in the face, pay $600 for something only to have it drop $400 in price within 45 days and the only thing you get for your $400 difference is a $100 store CREDIT.
The free game shit is HARDLY a slap in the face.
Next thing you know gamers will start asking for game industry reform and want shitty development company's bailed out of bankruptcy.

Wow, guess they already heard people aren't happy with the recent PSN changes and they new non-existant resell value of the games. why givng out these ideas to management? Michael Eisner?

thought you can do it on the regular psp, i do love the idea of using a psp go as a treasure trove of PSone games. it just costs 6 bucks to have resident evil 2 on the go, or ten bucks for the final fantasy games. portable gaming certainly has come a long way.

On its own merits, yeah, I love it - but the lack of any multiplayer was just lazy. LBP for the PS3 is fantastic as a multiplayer experience.

I can't find the $50 discount on amazon. Where is this deal? I would like to get one if PSPgo really at $200 with a LBP game.

I pissed them off awhile back by calling them out on BS, they nonchalantly banned me without notice. I can post but it doesn't show, oh well looks like more than enough people agree with my view over there. They should actually get the 3rd parties to upload digital copies of their games before attempting to take on any new disgruntled owners.

And I thought something was wrong with my browsers not showing my posts there.... they frickin banned me too because of my rage post on their blog about the Go.

I made the mistake up "upgrading" from my old PSP to the Go as I wanted something more portable. I have large enough hands so after awhile it was really uncomfortable to use. It was the back part when you had it flipped up as it felt too thin. Eventually I just sold it and bought an iPod Touch and I'm happy I did.
That's not to say I'm trying to deter others from getting it as the PSP brand is still an excellent gaming system, I'm just writing from my experience.

Amazon (UK) presently have the White PSP Go for GBP179.99 (down from the original Recommended Retail Price of GBP229.99, then GBP199.99). Further reduction rumoured when the machines are re-launched later this year.
You can set-up a US PlayStation Network account on the device & don't have to touch the European Store at all.

I advise people to go for LBP, Bloodlines is a pretty weak attempt at imitating the console versions of AC. If they were gonna make one for PSP they should have built it around the system's strengths. This is the case with most PSP games, they try to be the console version and fail in controls and sometimes graphics. GOW did a great job though.

I'm not gonna defend AC1 since it was less than great, but it still beats the PSP version in terms of controls.

Or you could do what I did get a PSP-3000 and both games for less than just the PSP GO....
(at the time the go was £215, I got a white 3000 with AC for £120 and bought LBP for £20)
... and you have the added bonus of not owning a GO.

I've always been interested in the Go but haven't found a viable reason to get one. I still love my first gen PSP Phat and that bad boy along with my Pre gives me more portable gaming than I have time for anyways.
