According to information collected by AppData, the FarmVille player base passed the 80 million mark yesterday. We'll give you a second to soak that in. It might help you digest it if we present the number numerically: 80,920,421. Or, perhaps you need another point of reference: That's almost the population of Germany. If you tried to orally count the number of people currently playing FarmVille, it would take you close to four years. And God only knows how large the player base would be then.
In related news, Zynga CEO Mark Pincus recently bought a yacht for his yacht. It's just a smaller yacht, that rests precariously on the bow of the larger yacht, in case the larger yacht breaks down. A lifeyacht, if you will.

I'm sorry, but I cannot stand Farmville. I tired, I really did.
I let my girlfriend log onto my Farmville so she can just send herself gifts.

@Ghen:
I dunno, I've found the "You're Next" joke to be pretty amusing.
Basically, if you've never liked getting dragged to wedding banquets by your grandma and you also didn't like having her tell you that "you're next" at the banquet, then you'll probably enjoy turning that around on her at a funeral.
I guess that it _might_ be impolite to actually do that at a funeral, but the joke itself is pretty funny to me.

I cannot understand the popularity behind this game, almost everyone in my family is playing this game and they seem to be crazy about it. I tried it once for about 20 minutes and then after that I never played it again.

Man...
I mean, I don't get how this game does it. I guess the achievements and actually working towards something coupled with a REALLY easy game and the fact that it networks so well helps it. Plus it's a cute game.
But it's still so boring. I played for maybe 2 weeks, and died inside a little.
Why doesn't Natsume get a Harvest Moon on Facebook, huh?

I think you're forgetting presentville. Some people use the acronym GPS for this game where you assume the role of a dot and visit present day locations while doing present day activities. It's a lot of fun but my dot doesnt seem to ever move.
