Stargate Worlds and Stargate: Resistance developer Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment has suffered the slings and arrows of economic turmoil for months now, leading to a number of unflattering reports about the company's finances. However, it seems the studio is taking steps to get itself back on the right track: A representative for Cheyenne recently announced on its official forums that the developer has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
In the aforementioned forum post, the representative assured fans of the Stargate games that, should the bankruptcy filing be approved, that the company won't simply shut down while it restructures. He explained, "our entire staff is in-house working on upgrades and expansions for Stargate: Resistance, and we continue to be motivated and excited by the response we've received from our customers." We wish everyone the best of luck with turning the good ship Cheyenne back into more prosperous waters.

I've just started watching Stargate SG-1 this last month on Hulu and I haven't been able to pull away from it. I'm already on Season 5. They made a big mistake making the Stargate game an MMO. It would have been better off as a fallout 3/oblivion type game or even like Mass Effect.

I totally agree, MMO wasn't the right move, especially while WoW exists.

I know it is sometimes frowned upon to do this, but I just could not help myself.

For a sinking developer, I wonder what the ratio is of people getting depressed and letting it show in their work to the number of people who take it as encouragement to do the best job they possibly could given the situation. You're better off with the latter attitude. After all, you'll be looking for a new job soon, and any credentials under your belt will help you greatly.

Ugh. The owners of the license have made one bad mistake after another with Stargate. What is it about popular sci-fi series that makes people want to make bad games of them?
Cryptic has been making MMOs for years and Star Trek Online sucks, and this FPS is just a cash in so they can continue financing the Stargate MMO, the game the developer was founded to make.
How could they not see this train wreck approaching on day one?

Chapter 11 is just restructuring. It allows for debt consolidation and getting out of certain obligations, like golden parachutes. They did kick the former CEO to the curb, so it looks like a serious attempt is being made to fix management. Cheyenne Mountain is in this spot due to poor management, and Ch11 lets them erase many of the ill effects.

Stargate: Resistance was released a couple weeks ago. The other game, the MMO, was put on hold for funding.

If you are referring to the uniform, it's actually a custom-modified Vietnam-era flight jacket. You can (or used to be able to) get one from the actual company that did them for the show.

I was mildly interested in this for the chance to play as a Goa'uld but being a PC exclusive keeps me from buying it (god I hate trying to play games with M/KB).

I don't really care about the mmo... but I still do need to grab resistance, game looks pretty good for its $20 price tag.

Well that sucks.
I guess it's back to playing with drawings on scraps of paper.
'No Dr. Daniel Jackson'
*shuffles towards gate*
_draws lightbulb over Samantha Carters head_
'WAIT!' Sam says, 'We can connect a naqueda generator to the fluxgate capacitor and bypass the event horizon by inducing a tactical feedback loop'
_draws confused face on Jack_
You see how it goes..............
