Borderlands DLC 'Secret Armory of General Knoxx' goes public tomorrow on Xbox 360

Ready to cross the border into new lands in your ... Borderlands? The doors will creak open to Borderlands' "Secret Armory of General Knoxx" add-on tomorrow. TeamXbox reports that the downloadable expansion, which adds new areas with new missions, the requisite piles of weapons, and even an increased level cap, will be released on Xbox 360 tomorrow, February 23, for 800

($10), with PS3 and PC releases to follow on Thursday for the same price.

One more thing: When you go online to explore the new content, we recommend that you let Gearbox's own hiring policy govern your interactions with your fellow mercenaries.

Update: According to a 2K press release, the level cap is increased to 61 in this expansion. "Secret Armory" also adds "almost 30 new villain types," improved AI, new vehicles and a new weapon class.

Well that's a pleasant surprise. I saw lv 61 listed before. So im guessing the level cap is 65 or 70 now. WOO! So buying.

Spinal Tap reference. Starting from 50, instead of going up ten, you can go up TO ELEVEN.

Why didn't they just make 10 extra levels and have 10 be the top overlevel?

Either way this is the first dlc i'm actually excited about for the game as it raises the level cap and adds a new area. Hopefully it adds enough for the extra 10 bucs.

Or at the least we get a borderlands dlc pack that cuts some off the price, as 30 bucs for these packs so far is getting a little ridiculous especially if they add even more later.

Aint no rest for the wicked.......or me starting tomorrow.

Didn't the retail release boast "unlimited" weapon configurations? How do you release "new guns" in a game where weapons are randomized as it is? Seems like a marketing cop-out to me.

Bosses drop specific named guns, and certain missions will award special guns as well. Like the first boss, Nine Toes. He always drops a handgun called the Clipper, which has a really fast fire rate, chance to set people on fire, and extra melee damage. Yeah, lots of guns have these stats, but this gun is the only one named "The Clipper."

Those guns all also have special attributes, represented by the phrases in red listed with the rest of the gun's stats. By adding in more unique attributes, they add in new guns despite there already being unlimited combinations. There are unlimited combinations of the numbers 1, 2, and 3, but that doesn't mean there aren't new variations to be had if you throw in a 4 and 5.

This looks like the first DLC pack actually worth buying for Borderlands. Might have to break it out and take some time off from MW2 and Bioshock multiplayer.

Dr. Ned was well worth it. Very atmospheric and had great humor throughout. I just finished it yesterday, in fact.

He's right; Ned is worth it, but Moxxi ain't. Unless you're consistently playing with 3 other people, in which case, yeah, get Moxxi and run through it.

Man ... all these DLC's mean that a GOTY edition is still far away lol. Damn you guys for supporting the game so much!

Buying this right when I get home tomorrow. Borderlands was my game of the year. Easily. Didn't care for the other two DLCs too much, but this one sounds awesome.

Wow this actually came out faster than I thought. Keep it going Borderlands! I'm excited about this one since as Zombie Island was good, but it was just too short and Mad Moxxi was slightly ridiculous and the only good thing going for it was the storage bank. Here I can finally not be a sad panda and get past level 50 like I always wanted. Plus the new vehicles look sweeeet.

Too bad they fail to mention they placed a new update for all of us who had modified guns/shields/class mods, KISS THOSE GOOD BYE. Oh as well as they messed up some of the patch where some orange and rare white guns go missing too, so a lot of you be prepared to get a lot of free space soon.

XBOX360 users can DL the new map stuff today, PS3 and PC users have to wait until the 25th.
