heavy rain is amazing. it comes with a little origami sheet and i was a little confused.. when you boot up the game during the install it explains to you what to do with it.. and you make the little thing on the cover... its a neat addition to the game.... considering the poor cover art we got in america.

So, Pony Friends got a sequel after all. Good thing too, after the cliffhanger ending of the first Pony Friends.

and how are they gonna top the first one too?

I'm excited but skeptical. I'll probably wait for reviews, but the various hair brush upgrades and tail ribbons might keep the gameplay mechanics fresh.

nofriendo,

I agree, this sequel just feels unnecessary. Pony Friends felt like a complete game with a perfectly concluded plot until they threw in that twist right at the end. It'll be interesting to see if this is a legitimate continuation or just a quick cash-in.

*SPOILERS*

Could you believe that they let you use a blue hairbrush?

Sarcastic? Have you played Pony Friends 1? It was amazing. By the time the credits rolled I was in tears. Such an emotional ending, not even the forced cliffhanger could ruin it.

I've been waiting three years for Pony Friends 2, this last day is going to be torture!

Still need to install the Heavy Rain demo, so that's a maybe. Another maybe on Metal Slug XX, though I'd prefer to wait for the XBLA version.

It would seem the only people who are 'on the fence' about Heavy Rain, have read Jim "Anything Other than Cheese Burgers, FPS's, and Button Mashers Are Bad" Sterling's very biased, and self-interested, review.

And yet he still gave it a 7, which I consider to be a decent score. It was a pretty thorough and well-articulated review in my opinion. People all bent out of shape at the fact he gave it a 7 need to relax because a lot of the points he raises are valid. I was still ready to buy it right away after reading his review, what put me on the fence is the demo I played.

Out of all the reviews I read that was the one I actually found the most useful. The points he brought up were exactly the things that made me really worry about that game, and while he confirmed that they are indeed valid complaints, he also made it clear that they don't ruin the experience and it's still a game worth playing. I'm still deciding whether or not to drop my $60, but while some people saw the review as negative, it actually pushed me a bit closer to buying the game.

Woops. Posted this reply originally as its own thread.

I'm not really bent out of shape about it. I think his review score was on par. My problem is with the content of the review. Reading his review, I would have expected a 3 or a 4 as a score. I think the review content was biased, and the score was legit.

Ignoring the fact that I don't buy hardly any games at launch for full price, I'd consider myself "on the fence" when it comes to my personal predictions from the demo and from what I've heard... And I haven't read that review. Sooooo suckiiiiit

I dunno about reviews, but I'd think twice about buying the game. It's essentially a remake of Gothic (due to Piranha Bytes losing the franchise to JoWood) which would be great, except the game sort of falls apart at the halfway point. Plot gets stretched thinner, there's a point in the game where you pretty much have to backtrack over the entire game world near the end, and the final fight is seriously out of place in a modern RPG... feels more like an old NES platformer, "shoot the boss in his left eye when it flashes red" kind of thing. That's a comparison, not a spoiler.

It's good for a rental if you liked the Gothic franchise as I did, but I think ultimately it's an unsatisfying attempt at a reboot. Your mileage may vary.

If I am going to pick up Borderlands, do I *need* to play it co-op? Seeing the DLC continue to trickle out keeps making me want to pick it up, but I haven't managed to convince my usual co-op buddy to buy it yet.
