dammit, every time I see street fighter news I am reminded of getting jipped for getting SF4 instead of waiting for SSF4. curse you capcom!!!!!!!!! I've learned my lesson for future street fighter games. Just wait a year. I hope no one else will get scammed next time.( I know there's new content just shut up. that''s what dlc is for)

You didn't really get screwed, seeing as you got to enjoy the game for a year, and having the SFIV disc unlocks some extras for SSFIV...

You willingly bought a game and had a year to play it. I'm sorry to hear that.

Wouldn't Wii Sports Boxing count as a 'fighting game'?

Then 'the future' is so 2006...

@ Dr. Blight - Yes, it's also exemplary of solarshadows' point in that the controls in WiiSports Boxing are finicky as all hell.

You can have as many or as little characters as you want, but it will always somehow be Ken vs. Ken.

LMAO, that is so wrong.

Capcom is not really a culprit with the franchise. SF been around since 1991. Look at games like Guitar Hero that only started recently and it already has as much titles.

I don't see this being playable. If Earthworm Jim isn't playable on the iPhone what makes you think a game that is hardly playable with a regular controller work on an iPhone?

I'll admit, the touchscreen joystick sounds like it'd be slick for SF...

I am 100% sure I am wrong though.

My question is why they couldn't have done this for PSP or DS.

I don't see it on the DS, but I'd think the game would be right at home on PSP...unless they've got piracy concerns.

As a big SF fan the very thought of a touch screen controller makes me cringe. It's not even playable with the regular Xbox controller. Touch screens need an entirely different class of games.

I just wonder how many epic failures are going to have to be released on the iPhone for developers to realize that if you want to make a good iPhone game, you have to make it FOR THE iPHONE.

Ports.

Blah.

Anyway, knowing Capcom, I would wait for them to release the SSF4 version with more characters. :D

Touch controls or not this looks AMAZING!!! The fact that they were able to get this kind of quality out of the iPhone is unreal.

For $10 bucks I'll take the plunge.

A well dressed piece of crap is still crap. Save your money. If you need any more convincing then look at Megaman 2 on the iPhone. 'Nuff said.

I agree with Vegnagun, I don't know how can someone pay for this. Sometimes you can't do the specials with a regular controller, how a virtual controller gonna be better?

I hope this game fail so we don't see crap like this happening anymore.

There's a reason why this game only costs ten bucks, while if it were on the PSP (or DS) it would cost $30 or more. It's likely to be a real piece of crap; an unplayable game with nice, ported, graphics. Does it even come with a "seal of approval?"

Personally, it makes me wonder: If it has touchscreen controls, why isn't this game on the DS? Generally, it takes a second developer to make DS-specific games, and with the quality of titles on the DS, they have to do an amazing job of it, or suffer the backlash of bad reviews.

The Apple environment is still a wild, disorganized, country. And it's possible to release all kinds of crap with little risk. That's why you can port a game (likely a demo version) with nice graphics and terrible gameplay.

the graphics looks amazing; I wonder if they'll release it later for the PSP, maybe as a PSP Mini title for the same price. At least there we'll have somewhat better controls.

Just because you can port games to the iPhone doesn't mean you SHOULD. How would this even work without buttons? Playing games on the iPhone almost universally sucks.

I remember saying this for Mortal Kombat on the SNES. But it played like crap. No way SF will work without real buttons. Period.

You could see him try to do a dragon punch like 8 times in that video without ever being able to actually pull it off.

That should give a bit of an indication about the controls.

Since I can't I will just put the $10 towards SSFIV.
