Oh ... didn't know that was possible.

So not only does the hardware get slimmer, the software does too! Making the hardware even slimmer!

That made me head hurt :(

Well Sony has always been an awesome hardware company (the reliability and features of the PS3 console being no exception to this), its cool to see the software is catching up. 70MBs is no chump change when its only got 512MB total (256 RAM + 256 video). Interesting to here. Now with some of that memory Sony should be improving the in-game XMB a bit if you ask me.

All I know is that Perfect Dark required it for certain multiplayer features.... Like I think you could only have like half the bots or something.

IIRC, the Vigilante 8 sequel had a code that unlocked a super-hi graphics setting on the N64, but it'd crash the game if you didn't have the expansion pack...

Actually the first game to use it was Starfox 64. In fact for a while, that was the only way to get the RAM Cartridge.

You know how Naughty Dog said Uncharted 2 used 100% of the PS3's power? Looks like Uncharted 3 will be using 110%.

Bad. Ass.

Actually, Uncharted 2 didn't use 100% of the PS3's power. UC2 just uses all of the SPUs. In Uncharted 1, some SPUs were shut off and went unused. . . because even multi-core processers (like quad-cores) are not fully utilized. That puts the PS3 in a whole different ballpark.

The more you know. . .

"Druckmann clarifies this statement, by stating that this does not mean Uncharted 2 uses 100 percent of the PS3’s potential power, but uses all seven SPUs at once."

Good people of Joystiq, I am here to warn you that someone is spoiling Heavy Rain, in the meanest possible way. Stay off of N4G, Examiner, or Play.tm. They use either xxxxxxxxxxx, Bungie, MGR, PP, or the actual spoiler itself. If you don't want Heavy Rain spoiled you should do this.

Heavy Rain? that ends with you going to the sugar mill, getting fuel and backtracking then waiting, fighting two tanks and the horde then getting on the boat.

Ah im just pulling your leg you turkey, that's a scene from L4D2.

Seriously though im staying away from forums until I get my hands on the game.

70MB is definitely a lot, especially when you consider how good some of the PS3 devs have become at optimizing their games. 70MB may as well be another 256MB to Naughty Dog.
