Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 coming to North America and Europe this fall

Since its original Japanese announcement, Naruto fans have been wondering two things: When is Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 coming out? And does it still look good? Well, the answers are "this fall" and "yes."

Not only is Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 the first game based on the Shippuden story arc to appear on an HD console, it's also the first multiplatform game for the franchise. Whereas the first game appeared exclusively on PS3, the sequel will grace both Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year. Thankfully, it looks as though developer CyberConnect2 isn't cutting any corners for the sequel, promising more than 40 characters, original Japanese voice overs and "bigger and more epic cinematic boss battles."

Like the first Ultimate Ninja Storm, the sequel is likely to present an abridged version of the series story. However, the press release boasts that "a shocking story twist" will have "Sasuke wearing Akatsuki gear." Yeah, we can't believe it either.

Eh? Your point is? People shouldnt play this game for the story, if you're interested in the story you should either be reading the manga or watching the anime. The gameplay is just pure fun though.

it happened a loooooong time ago for the manga, a few episodes ago for the anime.

I'm actually pretty shocked that the games story goes so far into shippuuden's story and will still be released in North America. Hopefully they will go up to the Pain vs Naruto fight too.

People shouldnt play this game for the story, if you're interested in the story you should either be reading the manga or reading the manga.

Heck yes! Not a fan of Naruto but I loved the first one, me and my friends(who also dont care for Naruto) always had a blast playing it!

The sequel looks great and the animations are as smooth as ever. If they improve on making the campaign less repetitive I will definitely pick this up as my next fighting game! I sold the last one just a few weeks ago when Gamestop was having a pretty good deal on trade-ins.

Also hope they implement some online multiplayer.

It will have online abilites.

If you followed the anime or manga sauske rocking Akatsuki gear isnt anything new. Im just happy to get to play as them with there new abilites.

Because I am the biggest Gundam fan on the face of the planet (I actually sat through and got 100% completion on both Dynasty Warriors Gundam games) you get plus 10,000 points in my book.

That being said, I wonder if they'll be able to digivolve in this and reach Mega level or better yet DNA digivolve.....

Liked the First Game, this looks awesome as well. I guess the whole Sasuke in Akatsuki gears thing gives you a good Idea of where the game will end in terms of story arcs, pretty much where the anime is up to now...Hope Killer Bee makes it into the game.

I lost interest in Naruto ever since the constant focus on Sasuke's complete lack of personality. But these games...I didn't get to play the first one, but they look fun enough to give me some bit of interest in the series again.

I wish the One Piece games could be this good...the "Unlimited" game series is alright, but the sheer amount of grinding and backtracking drives me insane.

Awesome. I just hope that the audio isn't Japanese 'exclusive'. Make it an option to choose between the 2, and everyone is happy.

1st one was like this, no worries.

I picked up Rise of a Ninja for my 360 a little over a year ago. I paid $60, which was pretty steep, but I enjoyed it. The Broken Bond is still $60, so I'm waiting to purchase that. Ultimate Ninja Storm is $40 and I'm waiting for that to drop to ~$20. Can't wait for this one either. I stopped watching the anime when I ran out of time to watch episodes and Dattebayo dropped it, but I still enjoy the storyline.

This looks awesome, and I hope it is as awesome as the trailer makes it out to be.

Nah.. I don't think anything big will happend. Just some preparation fight for the next to come and with Naruto arriving and then Sasuke calling Madara to pick him up and whine as they go home and some shit.

I agree. Sasuke is just going to find out how much stronger Naruto is then him now in sage mode, and probably pull one of those hissy fits he threw in the first series over chidori vs rasengan.

If they're going as far as Sasuke joining Akatsuki, Naruto vs Pein is not that far off, and it would be awesome to see Pein as a playable character.

I love naruto, and I'm a Anime only kinda person, so I get all the story fully animated. But for some reason I just couldn't force myself to watch the new eps(since they're fillers), I really wish it would end soon.

I had #1, and never understood why I won or lost in any of the matches of the campaign game. If I lost a match, I'd just try again and eventually beat it

I can't stand Naruto. The story just doesn't hold any appeal for me.

...that said, I loved Ultimate Ninja Storm for some reason (maybe it was the simplified controls, which unlike most fighting games *don't* require you to do ludicrously complex joystick/d-pad maneuvers with split-second precision), so this is good news for me.

Glad to hear that they will have 40 Shippuden characters i seriously thought it was only going to have like 12 or 20.

40 characters?! i hope they arent including something kid naruto and older naruto when they say that. I wonder if they are going to make tobi be a madara bad ass or a irritating idiot lol Please make the story mode less boring/repetitive! I promise I won't trade this one in:D lol
