Man, I don't know what I liked best about that trailer. The stiff, robotic, "next time on must-see TV" narration, or the giant-ass Microphone of Crushing +3 that Shelley was waving around...

Still, looks like Settlers with some sort of web-layout talent tree, so that's sort of intriguing. Not 100% on board with the cartoonier structures, but I gotta take my feudal SimCity games where I can find them.

Isn't this the other game with AC2's terrible, terrible, terrible DRM?

Then I condemn Joystiq for giving the game ad space w/o mentioning that.

Thanks DRM!

You'll silence your blasphemy and purchase Beyond Good and Evil 2 on a console like a good lad.

Sorry, horrible DRM makes me wonder why Joystiq would bother mentioning this game. Just to repeat the general sentiment.

Yeah, can't see me buying it. Settler 6 was a disappointment, and while 7 looks a lot better again the DRM issue turns me off. I have no problem with the game phoning home at the installation or being tied to an account (I buy 70 % of my games over Steam anyway), but I have a problem if I can't play because my internet connection or the Ubisoft server has a problem and that I have to trust Ubisoft to keep my savegames intact.

How about saying that it borrows a little from the Civilization franchise rather than board games. Still, it looks like it's maintained much of the charm that sets the game apart from others.

I don't think you understand what victory points mean in the context of a board game.

I've been burned before on Settlers, but this actually looks kind of tempting

Well, with Ubis new DRM this is also not for me. Would have liked it, looks like a quite nice MP Settlers game. Alas, seems the Venice addon for 1404 AD (which will not have this kind of DRM added) will be the last Ubi title I'll play on the PC, until that idiotic "Worse than Steam but hey no install limits that's the only thing that matters right?" attitude disappears from the minds of Ubis executives.
