Still-nascent GameStop CFO Catherine Smith, enticed by a retail giant that makes the games business look like small change, has resigned. The company this morning issued a press release stating that, effective immediately, Robert Lloyd has been named CFO and senior vice president in Smith's stead.
Brown is said to have become a person of Walmart International, but even with her gone, CEO Daniel DeMatteo remains confident in the current "strong executive team" in place, also noting that her replacement, Robert Lloyd, has been a part of GameStop for 14 years now. "He has been instrumental in guiding the company through its tremendous growth and success." We might argue that the company hasn't seen too many lean years in its lifetime, but let's not bother with that right now. It's your special day, Mr. Lloyd. Live it up.

She obviously completed her Continuing Ed credits for "Managing Evil Businesses," and is now advancing to the next most evil organization.
I see her in politics within a decade.

Only the female employees who have eaten Wonka's three-course meal gum. ;)
I worked for GameStop once upon a time, it's a miserable job and it makes you hate life, gaming and little kids. That's why the employees are so bitter, life sucks for them. :D
If Catherine Smith's responsible for the worst work environment I've ever experienced then I can only wish her on a steep downward staircase into failure. ;p
Unfortunately she'll probably do quite well and the new CFO for GameStop would have to have a massive aura of suck to destroy the well-established business plan that GameStop has now and reaps great profit with. If GameStop and Walmart merged that would be a horrific day. The greeters would upsale you to buy those blueberry muffin tops and then we'd all be gigantic Walmart chubbies and end up like the human race in Wall-E. :O

its a shock they're even still around with amazon and so many other retailers that sell new games cheaper than gamestop sells used ones (classics).

This can't bode well for game stop ,knowing that someone who know your business concept or has info about your business infrastructure, working for the company that has taken one stop shopping to sad heights or as i call them the destroy of mom & pops stores.now has some who knows your ideas. (secrets or agendas)unless you have a few clause in her origanal contract the forbid her tro divulge or diiscuss anything & everything gamestop or eb or funcoland or Babbage's. if thats the case then good luck to her.

I don't blame her for leaving....
Sometimes, trade-credit for games depresses me too.
LOL, I'm playing. I never trade games in.... I know better!!!

It's only a matter of time before Gamestop starts dropping. I'm sure "piracy" will be to blame for it.
