What a miserable comparison. A car cannot be driven without a steering wheel. However, a complete lack of separate SE soundtrack didn't hinder my enjoyment of the game in any form or fashion. Furthermore, my game did not become uncontrollable and veer off the road into a telephone pole.

Sony has been having a heck of a time lately getting this redeemable code thing right. It was over a week since Aliens vs Predator was released, and my skins and map pack codes still don't work. It is kind of irritating that this happens so consistently with the Sony and the PSN...

Dear Sony...can you launch anything without f'ing up some part of it? I've been buying your consoles since forever and it is the same thing EVERYTIME.

Dear KSPARYDAD, there is a difference between publishing and developing. Maybe you and some many others need to a little lesson in that department, instead of blaming Sony everytime something happens in regards to a game.

"Heavy Rain product manager for the region Alex Pavey" an employee of Quantic Dream, not SCE.

CzAR...internet condescension is so much fun.

SONY is responsible for the publishing of this game.

From Wiki (though I could give you multiple sources)

Quote: As with book publishers or publishers of DVD movies, video game publishers are responsible for their product's manufacturing and marketing, including market research and all aspects of advertising.

A LE Soundtrack is MARKETING.

Thanks for playing.

The game crashed on me three times during my first playthrough, so it definitely has some problems. Not to mention the constant screen tearing. I wouldn't say the entire game is a problem though. It just isn't as polished as one would have hoped.

Reading between the lines in the article, I think that ALL the content for the Special Edition is DLC. However, if you use the voucher code before March 4th, the music files won't be available.

The music files should be up by March 4th, so if you use your voucher after then, you'll get your soundtrack.

NOTE: I may be wrong.

ALSO NOTE: There may be issues with using the voucher code on the US PSN instead of the Euro PSN. Look into it if you are importing the Special Edition.

There's more than one song in this game? Because I'm hearing the same sad-sounding song OVER AND OVER AND OVER at the beginning and end of nearly every scene...

That aside, I dig heavy rain.

The bonus material shows up after you finish the first playthrough of the game. And the "update" appears to be free DLC they force you to download but not play.

Akronon,

You're right, the SE content is all DLC. There's no physical soundtrack in the packaging and you're correct in stating you'll have to wait until March 4th to get all three but if you accidentally used the voucher already you'll be fine if you contact customer service about it. :O

Sonos,

Dude, relax, it's called teasing. The reason everyone is a dick in high school is so you can tolerate mild criticism in the real world. And your analogy was hollow, which you still won't acknowledge. Comparing a soundtrack to a steering wheel is not a great analogy. Like others said you can still play the game without the soundtrack whereas you cannot drive a car without a steering wheel. Analogies have rules and you didn't follow them. In that vein of thought a better game --> car analogy would be: That's like buying a car with all the perks and when you get the car you're told that the radio wasn't installed yet, but if you come back in a few weeks they'll get it installed for free. Yeah, you paid for a car with a radio, you're still getting your radio and it was late due to some manufacturing problem. Yeah, you're bitter but it's not the end of the world, you still have a new car. ;p

And don't yell at Mr. ESC, misplacing your anger is no way to deal with your problems. Jeebus.

I just got an e-mail from HMV, they sent me an extra code in case I had already redeemed it

"Thanks for pre-ordering Heavy Rain Special Edition.

Sony have reported to us that there has unfortunately been a last-minute technical delay to the Heavy Rain official soundtrack, meaning that customers who have purchased the Heavy Rain Special Edition will not be able to download the Soundtrack until 4th March 2010. Sony recommend that you wait until this date to redeem your Special Edition voucher code which is in the game box - you'll then receive all the Special Edition content in one batch.

However, if you choose to redeem your voucher code immediately for the other downloadable content, you won't be able to receive the official soundtrack nor will you be able to use the same code to redeem the soundtrack on 4th March 2010. Therefore, you'll need the following code to enable you to download the soundtrack from 4th March 2010.

Your code is:
xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

Use on or after 4th March 2010 as per the instructions that came with the game.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused"

I actually did crash the car...but into a ditch, and then I crawled out before the police came.
