The only reason they delayed this was so they could work in that Mossad mission in Dubai.

I'm pretty sure it was any number of reasons, not the least of which include MW2 and ME2

my source (which is extremely reliable) said the delay was due to Sega not having the money for marketing it. specifically that they had run out of marketing budget for the year (last year). so the release was pushed back until the advertising budget was there fiscally. pretty damn lame on Sega's part imo.

The game's been finished for something like 7 months.

Except this was a day 1 purchase for me back when it was coming out before ME2, and I can't be alone. The game looks a little better in this trailer than previous videos, but the animations are still janky and the story seems like some sort of Splinter Cell/Burn Notice mashup.

I think when this comes out I'll just play through ME2 again.

your source needs to be declassified, just like this new alpha protocol trailer:

that was the worst "except" i've ever read. Because you, and maybe a few other people were going to buy it, it's impossible for Sega to have moved it to avoid losing sales to ME2?

also, is the PCs face going to be customizable, because he looks even more of a generic white guy than Commander Shepard AND the Secret Apprentice

By secret apprentice I assume you're talking about from Force Unleashed...the apprentice was molded after an actual actor named Sam Witwer (who by the way was Crashdown in BSG)

agreed though, even though it was a real dude, he has the 'average white guy' thing going for him

Average White Guy is not so bad....if he has a deeper voice. I mean come on! The last 4 or 5 RPG's with a Mr. Action Hero as the lead PC sound like they wouldn't last 5 or 6 minutes in Die Hard or Terminator. Also I don't think "Starkiller" looked that much like Sam at all, coming from someone who watched a lot of the shows he's been on already.

I assure you it was Sam Witwer. there's behind the scenes footage floating around showing him in the mocap suit acting out the various cinematics from the game. check his profile out on IMDB.

His face isn't that bad compared to the whiny weaksauce voice they chose. Though I will say it's sounding like his voice inflection seems a bit more convincing than Shepard's.

No. Bad Ass: The Game is already taken by Splinter Cell Conviction.

The following names are currently free for use:

Ass: The Assening
Ass Bad: WTF Edition
Game Ass: The Bad

Looks pretty dated, yeah. Models are low-detail, stiffly animated, faces are wooden. I'm not sure if the otherwise serious tone of the game really works well with the trampy Russian in the red bra, either, seems like some sort of decade-late tribute to Austin Powers.

Hopefully that's the worst of their issues, as the studio has shown a solid core of game design in their previous work... but at the same time, they haven't seemed able to deliver a retail PC product that wasn't laden with bugs and load time issues.

combat? you mean some slow-mo sequences that still show no gameplay?

his point was that the trailer doesn't show you what you're going to be doing with the game, just what you'll be seeing.

This is Obsidan, and it's written by the guy who wrote Vampire: Bloodlines, those two facts togheter makes it worth the BioWare/Valve/Blizzard bump, as in, pre-buy and bask surefire goodness it will be... and if the turns out bad, then some people have lost some cred, and I won't be doing that for their next game.

looks like a secret agent going to kill bin laden. looks good. buut, it looks like it would make a better movie than a game. not that it looks like a bad game, but it looks like one of those games that if you miss 2 minutes of dialogue, youll be lost for the rest of the game.

well, with the character from just cause, the storyline of splinter cell, and a cover that looks like bourne, it can either be a badass game, or a badass case in the courtroom

people need to stop hating, this game looks pretty good to me, and considering i'd do anything for a mass effect fix, this game is looking promising.

although the die hard-esque german woman seems a little out of place.

It looks OK, all things considered. Hell, lots of parts of Dragon Age (complete with shit frame rate) looked like ass and yet, people ate it up like pigslop.

I'll wait to pass judgement once I actually hear more about it instead of badmouthing it before it's even come out.
