Plenty of people would pay for 360 and PS3 versions in North America and Europe. It may take awhile, but it will probably come over to the US eventually.

It shouldn't take that long. All the voice acting seems to be in English, with Japanese subtitles.

I could keep the gameplay (-the wiimote) and get a graphics upgrade.

True. I just find the hypocrisy a bit irritating when people use the gameplay > graphics argument when for instance fanboys defend that their system is technically inferior to the other and then they do a 180.

Chalk up another one on the "missing the point" board.

Part of NMH's appeal is its low-fi approach to graphics. Some of that is lost in upping the polycount and resolution.

Another wonderful part you'll miss out on is the visceral usage of (dare I say) waggle QTE's to finish off enemies (and lift weights).

Not heard that before, but even if that's true, I'm sure they'll still be fairly plain, they just be a lot cleaner with the higher resolution. The Wii's graphics are often really on large screen HDTVs,

I have have to contest the gameplay>graphics for this one, sure the wiimote was fun, but if you are one of the few who got stuck while riding the motorcycle and losing a lot of gameplay time. I rode arround for 2 hours collecting all those coins(or whatever they are). To lose any amount of time because of a gameplay glitch would imply gameplay is not great.

My only hope for this port is that they fix the glitches. The graphics overhaul is welcomed but that wont be my reason for repurchase if it does come state side.

Well speaking as an old-ass gamer, I'd say the only thing the Wiimote added to NMH is crippling wrist injuries. I'll take button-mashing over wrist-flailing any day of the week.

I'll be importing the crap out of this one. It sucks that Ubi said they're not bringing it over, but I've played through the original release a few times already. I'll mostly be enjoying the pretty new visuals, and hopefully some difficult trophies. (though if the 360 asia release turns out to be region free, I'll go with that one- in which case 'trophies' becomes 'achievements', obviously)

Has it been confirmed to be Japan only, or has Marvelous kept a tight lip on the topic?

Marvelous mentioned they'd only be publishing in Japan while Ubisoft said they weren't going to be involved with the game as far as the US is concerned. Still means some other publisher could jump in and pick it up.

Based on the first trailer I thought they were going to dub it and cut out the English voice tracks, but this trailer had the English voices in it so it should definitely be much more import friendly.

Obviously, it looks better than the Wii version, but I really think the Wii controls make this game. There are so few games that actually take advantage of the controller and work well and this is one of them. I wish this series got more attention from the Wii crowd. It's really unfortunate.

Hopefully it fares better on the other consoles so that Travis keeps killing for a while, even if it's not on the Wii.

After having played through some of NMH2 with the Classic controller, I guess you can give a slight edge to the Remote + Nunchuk controls (and I do prefer them), but I wouldn't exactly say that they "make" the game.

Certain things like switching katanas are done better with the classic set up, and eventhough they didn't do it, free camera control could have been given with the right analog stick.

So really after playing the game with the classic controller, and seeing how much more vibrant and sharp the game looks on the 360/PS3, at this point I think I'd prefer to play the game on those consoles since it plays almost equally as well, and looks 100x better.

"Blah blah blah graphics < gameplay blah blah". Yes, gameplay will always be more important, but it's not like anything's being sacrificed in the HD ports and the game never really that anything mind blowing added to it with motion controls, so like I said, you're getting a game that plays about the same and looks exponentially better.

You know, I played the first one and loved it; sadly, I never beat it, because I was stuck on one of the last bosses.

When I bought NMH2, I started using the Wiimote, but then, after getting frustrated trying to maneuver around a bit (ie - Nathan Copeland), I decided to check out how the CC worked.

I never went back to the Nunchuk. Using the CC, contrary to the criticism you would've gotten from using it, actually helped the experience. I know it detracted from what Suda 51 wanted, but it really helped with the game.

Sadly, it didn't help with Pizza Batt. Good god, that little shit stain kicked my ass all around his office; I nearly broke the damn controller throwing it in frustration. To keep me from having to replace another controller, I didn't go back to it.

I'm gonna backup the OP here. I tried out the Classic Controller for NMH2 for a couple boss fights, and afterwards switched back to the Wii Remote/Nunchuk combo. The CC has some advantages, like the D-Pad for the side-jobs, but I thought the Nunchuk overall felt more intuitive and ergonomic than a standard control setup. You could just tell that the game was made to be played with a Nunchuk.

Besides, it's just no fun delivering the ending blow or charging the beam katana with a Classic Controller.

My main problem with the first NMH is that it was a game I appreciated more for it's style than it's actual gameplay. Which is why I felt the Wiimote controls (much like Madworld) actually added some variety to the otherwise repetitive gameplay.

So I fear that by putting this on the ps3/360, NMH just becomes a very stylish, but ultimately repetitive game. Unless of course they're adding more stuff to the game so that this doesn't happen.

Who can say what will happen in the coming months with this port? Depending on sales, it will probably make its way to NA/EU. Much like Disaster: Day of Crisis.

Yes, but that is pretty much in the same boat. It could be put over here depending on the success in Jp to widen the market of the game. I am also fairly certain the game would be pretty successful over here, but I can't say for certain.

I own a copy of the Wii version. But, I'll happily be buying another copy (importing, even- if I have to) that's prettier. I enjoyed it a lot and will enjoy going through again.

If spending money on my favorite hobby bothered me, I'd take up a cheaper one. :)

Because for me, that would be $219.98 + tax since I don't own a Wii. I wouldn't mind, however, swallowing a quarter of that dollar amount for some enjoyment.

I think I should point out the important detail that the trailer, at 1:24, advertises both English and Japanese audio being selectable in the game (also, as noted by other comments, the game audio in this trailer is actually in English). Other features advertised include a "Very Sweet Mode" as well as the "Erotic Portrait" preorder collections (titled "Sexy Cherry" on the PS3 and "Sweet Mango" on the XBox 360). Aside from those details, I think everything else discussed in this trailer is just gameplay details from the original Wii version.

I'm still concerned over the quality of this port. It looks to be just a straight port of the Wii version, which is the last thing they should be doing. NMH's gameplay was built around the Wii's controller, and although you can port that onto a standard control scheme (as evidenced by the Classic Controller option in NMH2), the experience will likely be stunted by it. What worked well for the Wii will be shallow and boring on the HD systems. And then there's the flaws that the first NMH had like the tedious overworld and side jobs, both of which still appear to be present in this port.

Marvelous likely would've been better off had they made a new NMH game that worked to the advantages of the 360/PS3 than just taking the Wii game and making it prettier.
