"You finally get the chance to see what it's like to be killed by Kratos," Adam Puhl explained to Geoff Keighley in the latest episode of GameTrailers TV. Although described as "first person kills," we'd argue that they should be coined "second person kills" -- you are doing the killing, after all. Regardless of the terminology, these interactive sequences are likely to represent some of the most gruesome moments of the entire franchise. For us, this footage represented the highlight of last night's episode.
The 21-minute special includes a rather comprehensive look at God of War III, but be warned of potential spoilers. The game is gorgeous. While playing the demo last night, I got to the upward flying level and I didn't even realize when the cinematic stopped. (I died alot on that part though.)
I hate how people keep reminding me the release date, which is exactly TWO (2) days after I can buy any game at all!... I also hate how much the demo today made me realize this is ke, you know, the whole world weight on my back... oh! look! Im Atlas!... talking about greek mythology!
Personally i couldnt help myself this morning when i visited GT. I broke down and watched the video. I kind of wish i hadnt but it really makes me want to play the game badly.
The QTE for pushing in the eyes with his thumbs is just to perfect, pushing both the sticks with your thumbs. In my opinion, that QTE alone is better and more 'realistic' than anything Heavy Rain have come up with. Just perfect.
Lol, I never got that whole goty thing before even playing a game either, lol. Right now my goty is Heavy Rain if only because that's really the only new game I have played this year.
It's god of war. we all know what we're getting...more of the same. Heavy rain is amazing, and innovative, and everything I hoped it would be. I've been playing it all week! and if god of war was not releasing this year I'd probably say that would be my goty.
But, I stand by my statement after watching that video a second time. Gow3 is Goty for me.
Downvote me all you want, but I'm not really a fan of the gameplay style of God of War and the likes.
Maybe it's the lack of "loot" needed to intice me, but it just seems so mindless after about 10 minutes, and don't even get me started on the boss fights *dramatic eyeroll*
Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this.
It's a button masher of the highest quality, basically. You might like it a little more than other brawlers just because of the top notch presentation and the huge scope of the battles, but if you aren't a fan of the genre than that's what it comes down to I guess, right?
Why do you have to be such a buzzkill? Honestly it is no different than the likes of any action game like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, etc. I just think that God of War is an extremely well made game, that impresses with its setting, atmosphere, and gameplay. It is truly unfortunate, that you do not appreciate a title of this caliber.
I haaaate basic hack and slack games! DMC? bah, so so...Bayonetta? uh uh, Dantes Inferno, yeah, certainly tedious after a while... Even Heavenly Sword which is great didnt love it... but I grabbed the controller today to play the demo... It felt so damn rigtht!!!
Is like, i didnt have to mash any buttons! it did what my mind desired to, and then theres was flying, bows, various weapons and attacks and there were some little red orbs that i guess let you upgrade every now and then... WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT?!
To each their own. Some people just don't enjoy certain types of games. I feel the same about online multiplayer FPS games, their just not my cup of tea. Although I enjoy GoW, I respect your opinion and totally see where you're coming from.

you must also be tired of life and the world, cause all it does is "in-fighting" as well, and should grow up as well. Gamers are just as varied as the world itself, because guess what? Gamers are from all over the world, and there are god knows how many variety of games (most only found in Asia).
Best example would be you yourself, since I don't know ANYONE that even thinks remotely that way. They wouldn't skip out on a game because every enemy isn't dropping some useless item that you'd have to stop to pick up. GoW never has been about that, and the idea is so far from the "hack and slash" gameplay, so not seeing the use of a post about it now.
And, personally, I'm tempted to downvote you simply because you said go ahead.
I would say that the GoW series just didn't entice me with its gameplay style. plus i hated the fixed camera angles/right stick to roll. Don't know what it is about it but it drives me nuts. I do have to respect how big of a game series it is, and how incredibly bad-ass it is. So, while I realize it may be a great game, and I quite liked the demo, I'm probably not going to end up getting it, maybe sometime in the future when it becomes a platinum hit, because I played GoW1 from the collection and had little urge to play it after an hour or 2.
