Initially appearing to be a bit more official than the standard placeholder date, a Brink sweepstakes page on GameStop's website declares the first-person shooter's release date as September 7, 2010. Publisher Bethesda Softworks tells Joystiq that the date should be "considered speculative." A representative for the company explained, "Often times retailers will assign a release date for a game that falls within the game's announced launch window. While we have announced that Brink is due out in Fall 2010, we have yet to announce an official release date for the game."
GameStop now notes on its Brink page: "Official pricing and release dates have not been announced by the publisher. These are estimates only and subject to change."

I saw the character customization video a while back ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLOhOBfB3g8 ), but other than that I haven't heard much either. I didn't even know it was a FPS!

That was my thought, as well. I can't belive they'd release a new IP, which actually does look very promising, against Reach. That's not really going to give this game a very good chance.

"Brink takes place on the Ark, a man-made floating city that is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental, self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become home to not only the original founders and their descendants but also to thousands of refugees. With tensions between the two groups growing, Security and Resistance forces are locked in a heated battle for control of the Ark. Which side will you choose?"
It's about time Waterworld got a game! I mean, who didn't love that movie? Wait...

Well, let's just hope to high heaven that it's nothing close to WET's level of disappointment.
"WHOA! I am doing the CRAZIEST SHIT!" And then five minutes later it somehow gets BORING. Probably due to those ridiculous weapon training segments in-between levels.

I have never actually seen this game in motion or really know anything about it at all.
Yet, somehow, I have a shirt with this game's logo...

I'm so so so so pumped for this game. The art design especially hooked me, not to mention being able to play a new Mirror's Edge before the official sequel is out.

For those who are just hearing about this game, a few points of interest:
1. This is being PUBLISHED by Bethesda. Is being DEVELOPED by Splash Damage. SD are the makers of Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Both are objective class-based FPS shooters, typically supporting 30+ players. (WolfET on the PC had many successful 64 player servers)
2. This is game is not Waterworld, in concept or otherwise. All gameplay takes place on 'land', as far as we know and have been shown, and again have it's roots in Wolf:ET gameplay. If you liked either ET game, you will likely like this game. If you hated them, there's likely little here to change your mind. If you thought they lacked a bit of polish or 'that little bit of somethin', then this may gain your favor. The SMART system is an evolution of PC players angry about the technique of 'skiiing' being taking out of games (by nature of the game engine changing). It certainly has similarities to Mirrors Edge... but a clone, it is not.
3. There are several game videos on XBL and online showing you the gameplay of this game. It's the same demo we saw at Quakecon last year.... although I think the newer videos have a weird motion blur effect I don't like (and don't remember seeing at quakecon).
4. This game will be awesome. That is all.
