That price seems a bit more reasonable. I can't believe they ever got away charging that much for the 20GB.

It's still as much of a rip you can get a 1.5 TB for that much of a price. That's a mark up of about 7 times the price MS is paying for the drive.

Reasonable? $130 for 250GBs? Should be 750GBs - 1TB for that kind of money. MS continues nickle and diming.

Here's hoping that, should a 360 form factor revision come out, you can plug & play standard 2.5" HDDs.

The fact that the price is reasonable compared to others just proves this CAN'T be real. When's the last time Microsoft has ever done anything reasonable when it comes to the prices it charges for things?

That´s not reasonable at all, I just bought a 320 GB HDD for my PS3 for only 79.99.

I need a bigger HDD for my 360 since I'm stuck with a 20 GB unit but 129.99 for 250 GB it's pretty outrageous.

This is reasonable:

MS makes double or triple what they pay (depending on the deal they get).

What makes you think they pay anything near retail? Even assuming they pay half of that, which I'm guessing is a generous assumption towards MS, that's still a 400% markup.

Microsoft's like a black hole. They need to suck everything up, and in this case, it's all those little green slips in your wallet. Sure, I'm stating the obvious, but the more people that realize this the better.

I just bought a Seagate external drive for $130. 1.5TB (1.36TB) small.

That is 6 times the size for the same price.

Re-cock-ulous!

I would buy this 250 MS drive if it was a quarter ($35) of what they were asking for, not a penny more!

transfers will work just fine -- if this new 250gb hard drive doesn't include a transfer kit, make sure you order the newer kit. older kits may not work...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937279

the 120gb HDD did include a transfer kit, so this one may as well -- no idea yet since the page is down...

Actually I wouldn't mind an actual answer from Microsoft about that. There was no need for them to have made the HD proprietary unless they wanted to directly control the cost. It would have been cheaper for them to just use standard 2.5" laptop hard drives, but then the customer would have had a choice of where to buy them.

Dr. Blight, 199 - 129 = 70

So is the Xbox 360 Arcade is made of 64% harddrive?

Here is what a HD costs:
