Prince of Persia movie trailer full of slow-mo-enhaal

Make no mistake, we're interested in the upcoming Prince of Persia movie for two reasons: Jake and Gyllenhaal. Saying otherwise is just a lie -- for some reason, some of you think worshipping the Gyllemonster is a bad thing? We don't understand it, but we're not judging you, are we?

From the same school of 'Everyone on the Death Star Spoke with A Haughty British Aristocrat Accent'.

Seriously, didn't Hollywood try that like 50 years ago?

I wish everyone spoke with a Cockney accent instead...

I don't care if it's a cheesy blockbuster. I want to see this movie!

Why doesn't the trailer end by saying, BASED ON THE VIDEO GAME? So nongamers are made aware that a game is worthy of being turned into a movie. This helps take video games out of kiddie land and show the public. That video games are just as worthy as film.

awww i want sand warriors and seriously you are going hide the dagger in the "secret guardian temple"? Yeah in what world does a temple protect anything. you got a guy with whip and woman with guns that can break into any old ruin with ease
i still hope it is good. this trailer was okay. maybe i am being harsh but i want wittier dialogue and better plot device then send the mcguffin to the temple

Looks okay although I must say I'm not a fan of Prince of Persia at all. I'm definitely not excited about this movie but then Hollywood hasn't been busting out too many "must see" movies recently. Jake has a decent English accent in this. Nice work. Not that I'm British >.

In all seriousness, someone who has the range to go from "Donnie Darko" to "Brokeback Mountain" to "Prince of Persia". That's respect.
...and no, the Rock going from Scorpion King to tooth fairy doesn't count...

As long as they keep Gilbert Godfrey for the voice of Iago I'll be a happy camper.

You know what. I just cant accept jake gylenhaal as the prince of persia. He is hwhity mick white white, the prince from the 'original' pop wore a friggin turban and was brown, and even though he had an english accent, the sands of time prince looked incredibly persian too.
I like him in other movies.
I just can't like him in this.
He ruins it for me.

@ James H and yugo:
I feel exactly the same way. I'm sorry but I just can't get behind 'another' white boy playing a non-white character in a Hollywood movie. And although it isn't going to change the world or most people's views on it, Hollywood has a reputation for doing such. Mr. Jake just doesn't fit the bill.

call me crazy but I like video game based movies (usually).
It reminds of POTC style and being based on a cool storyline only helps its chances at being a pretty awesome movie.
I'll definitely see it opening weekend......
