The captain is right. Controlling a schmup with the Arc sounds about as inviting as tying your shoelaces with your d**k.

I mean, my d**k (praised be its glory!) can do many things but there are limits.

I have that model, had it for 3 years, and have yet to build it... this photo just reminded me of that fact and I really should build it.

I have an unopened model of the Gradius II Vic Viper (the one in the picture is a model of the Vic Viper from the first game). No idea when I'll get to putting it together.

Is this repeating history like the Lair fiasco where it only worked with the Sixaxis motion controls before a patch finally come out that enabled regular controls?

Curses and Drats.

You had my hopes up high that it was some site based on the combination of two powerful forces of gaming, Link and Warcraft.

Begone foul one.

Or you know, it might imply Arcade?

If it was Gradius Arcade, it would be Gradius VI, as every Gradius arcade game got a roman numeral. (aside from V, which as planned as a Arcade/PS2 release, but the long stages and a dying arcade made Gradius V not worth the arcade release).

I remember making it to... either the seventh or eigth boss on Gradius III on the SNES without losing any lives... then that fucĸer obliterated me. It was where a bunch of them come out and attack one after the other. I got to maybe the 3rd or 4th one.

But yes, I agree with you. As awesome as a new Gradius game would be, I'd rather it have traditional controls.

Clicking on the "Gradius Rebirth" link does nothing but come back to this page. The tag is wrong.

Actually a full 3d Gradius game would be awesome. Especially if somebody like kojima san were behind it... Ah memories from ZOE2...

Actually, Konami released a 3D rail shooter version of Gradius in the arcades in the late 90s called Solar Assault.

While it would be nice, I would rather have a Gradius VI or better yet a Gradius Gaiden II than a 3D rail shooter.

I'm thinking more about a flight sim kind of game adjusted for space. I remember that Vic Viper once had a cameo on Airforce Delta Strike.

who is your konami and what does he do?

konami: it only does metal gear solid.

maybe konami should pull a god of war collection with silent hill and earn some money that way...

Maybe it's actually "Gradius Ark." You know, where you have to shoot two of every enemy. But, man, the double boss fights are going to suck, and I'm not even going to think about the double boss rushes. That would be some real Burning Heat there. At least we'd have two pairs of options.
