Eidos really wants to not make more money, this is the best game to come out of the studio in years and they want to skip the North America, is it April 1st or something?

This is about licensing. The game devs already invested in the game tech and obviously want to sell the game to you, but cannot because some idiot is extorting a higher fee.

Joystiq should point this out, because while it's obvious to a lot, some aren't aware of how this stuff works. Batman is very lucrative IP.

Oh, and I hope the 360 is region free. The PS3 is. Happily, I am simply always waiting for GOTY editions for everything.

Except the IP holder, Warner Bros, actually owns the developer now, so...

That is amazing. Dr blight, that is just amazing.

They already made the game and obviously want to sell it. WB is common stock and has a fiduciary duty to make money for investors who own stock. They don't have a choice but to attempt to make the most money with this, so they must have some kind of scheme to make money from Americans with this.

Perhaps they will announce this title at a later time in the US? Perhaps they have sold some kind of exclusive license in this region to someone else and can't compete?

Either way, they are obligated by law to make money from this 3D version (if they can).

Simply bizarre if they never do, but I bet there's a DLC or a GOTY edition in the NA region, or some other batman game under development from a different dev.

man that sucks! Guess I'll stop waiting for it and pick up the normal version since I haven't played it yet. :(

Makes no sense to leave out North America, considering it sold like hotcakes and a lot of people would probably purchase it despite already owning the normal version.

Maybe they are planning a different version not called GOTY edition for NA. *crosses fingers*

I'd buy a DLC add-on for 3D if it didn't require a new TV. Oh well, Eidos sucks anyways.

Yea we know that those in Quebec won't help, because most of them speak French and a third of them are French.

This is bound to come to the US eventually, but in the meantime if you're impatient, the PS3 is region free. Import, baby!

Batman is an AMERICAN character created by an American citizen and owned by an American company. How could DC allow this to happen to their American fanbase?! I think a boycott of all things DC might be in order, lets see how many copies of Detective Comics they sell in France. What a bunch of backstabbing cheesy Mother#@$%s!
