Um yes. Duh.

Have you ever looked at Xbox and PS3 games? They render completely differently.

I must have the wrong MW2 then, cause they look the exact same across my PC xbox and PS3.

I feel as though too much emphasis is being placed on innovation lately. What if the game plays well and is visually pleasing? Can't that be enough? Let's stop with all of the "Yeah, well this game did that first," or "They totally ripped from this game."

Recently, Darkisiders was a well known violator of concept thievery, yet it was one of the most gratifying gaming experiences I have had in a while.

No, it's not that people want innovation, it's that people want what they think is innovation, which isn't always actual innovation.

I could see the sales pitch for this game now:

"Westerners like generic shooters with space marines. Let's make one of those."

Sadly I doubt this is the last one we'll be seeing.

Mikami directed Resident Evil 4, which was maybe the best game from last gen and one of the best games ever. Have a little faith people, this guy isn't an amateur.

Eurogamer 4-page preview, it sounds vastly different from Halo.

I don't even think it looks all that much like Halo. I'd never mistake those for Halo screenshots even with a passing glance. I don't get why so many people are making that comparison.

Someone at platinum games needs to tone down the motion blur just a tad! I think maybe the look is a little generic but the combat might make up for it.

Maybe Platinum can ship the PS3 version off to someone who will screw it up worse than Sega did to Bayonetta!

Is it just me or does the visor position on the helmet either mean he has an upside-down face or ridiculously huge forehead?

If you'd read the eurogamer preview you'd know the game is set in a place where soldiers communicate by lip reading, having only tiny holes on their helmets that allow vision.

Looks like a mix between gears and halo to me. Definitely seems like it could use some originality from the looks of things. So long as it's fun though, I'm sure it won't be that big of a deal. Look at Uncharted.

It might not be the prettiest game, but from the Eurogamer writeup, it sounds damn fun. We'll just have to see how they do the controls.

Mikami is one person in which faith should be placed to develop a good gameplay structure, but it really doesn't look promising.

Hands-on impressions are needed, i think.

i really don't know how people can go crazy for Halo. i think their ok games. the story line was Meh and the soundtrack is ok. i think they are milking Halo not that i really care if they do or not i feel bad for those who spend $60 on a brand new halo and worship the new one like every year, it almost sounds if as Activision is behind the game in a way you get Halo Wars then Halo ODST and now upcoming Halo reach with in what a year or 2 ? i really do hope they run it into the ground as i wanna see Millions of people loving it start to turn away from it.

now as for the article.... this game is still up in the air for me. i'l come out right now and say this. I Bought Haze and i thought the dialogue was cheesy and characters in the army on the side you play in first made me wanna put my head in a hole in the ground, but i thought it wasn't too bad and thought the graphics were good and the storyline sound like it comes from a movie but then again what video game hasn't that's really good ?

i'm going too look more into this game too see where my thoughts and opinions go on the game.

Halo CE: 2001 (2003 for PC)
Halo 2: 2004 (2007 for PC)
Halo 3: 2007
Halo Wars: 2009
Halo 3: ODST: 2009
Halo: Reach 2010.

Now, compare that to most other successful franchises. Apart from a slightly higher amount of recent releases, not to mention Halo Wars was originally supposed to release earlier than it did, it's hardly milked. ODST was just an expansion, Reach is on the standard three-year cycle.

@ Captain Planet

i'm not a Hater. i thought the Halo series wasn't bad but 3 Halo games in 2 years ? FPS or RTS it's still milking the game Halo isn't it not ? you could say Halo Wars wasn't a true Halo game and just took place in Halo universe .. ok that's fine but that's like calling SNES Mystic Quest a Final Fantasy game tho Final Fantasy is in the title i know quite a few people who say that really wasn't a Final Fantasy game.

@ Dr.Blight

ODST is a expansion ? really i was under the impression that Halo 3 ODST doesn't need the original Halo 3 disc ( this is what i was told ) please correct me if i am wrong .. if i was told wrong then meh so be it but if i happen to hear right then, in my eyes i don't really look at that as an expansion.

I wanna see Halo hated by the people who love it soo much cause theirs too much of it I really Think Bungie needs too work on a game that does not involve Halo.

by the way... is Bungie a Third party Studio or is it First party .. if memory serves me correctly Bungie parted ways with Microsoft if they did then Bungie must be like insomniac games, not owned by anyone but only will make games for one Console.

it looks like a few early screenshots that show very little to me.

i don't see the point in slagging off a game you know very little about. i'm sure some early screenshots of bayonetta were just as underwhelming and look how that turned out.

considering platinum games are the same developers that made bayonetta, it's way too early to judge this game.

When I first saw the trailer, nothing really caught my attention and the same goes for these screenshots... but I'm not counting it out just yet. I mean, this IS still a Mikami game, after all. Plus, I love third person shooters.

Either way, sci-fi shooters more often than not tread all too familiar ground... just look at HALO. In my opinion, its a very stale and lackluster series in terms of design, presentation and appearance. Good games? Of course. But very stale. Its a setting, within a genre, that's very hard to be original in, though.
