Rumor: Modern Warfare 2 DLC 'Stimulus Package' screens

With a pair of Modern Warfare 2 DLC packs set to deploy on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this year, talk around the DMZ has everybody wondering what new stomping grounds will get added. Well, according to The Tech Game, the first pack (due this spring) will be titled "Stimulus Package" and includes five new locales - three brand new and two returning from Call of Duty 4 (Crash and Overgrown).

The images and accompanying video (the latter posted past the break) look legitimate enough, though we've sent word to Activision for confirmation. We doubt we'll hear back, considering the company has a lot on its plate right now, but don't say we didn't try!

Don't worry, you didn't miss much. A bunch of stills from first-person perspective. No action shots; just pics of a few new maps.

I get that the website wants credit for the images and the leak but damn that video was hard to watch because of the annoying watermark / font.

Crash and Overgrown? Lame. As if we didn't spend approximately two years playing them. They don't even look different at all, at least when Bungie remakes maps they add something different or completely change the aesthetic.

I'm glad their back, I've not been playing MW2 because I think the maps are boring in comparison to CoD4, having those maps back will be great.

Well they're certainly good maps (overgrown was my favourite in CoD 4, until Broadcast and Creek), and as someone who plays almost exclusively in split-screen I'd definitely appreciate a few smaller maps. Their existence as MW2 maps isn't a problem, that they are going to be part of a $10 (I'm betting $15 personally) map pack is.

Vacant?

Was I the only one who saw what looked like Vacant in the trailer? At least, like parts of Vacant?

Still hoping for a Backlot remake.

aww man, overgrown in MW2 would MAKE my day. then with shipment, broadcast, and vacant... oh my god.

just imagine an AC-130 on shipment. it would be amazing.

yea true, if they are making us pay for old maps, might as well include ALL COD4 maps. or expand them a little. the only one i dont like is "wetwork" and even still, i could manage that map ALOT better than "rust" though. bring back "shipment" for 1st person cage matches!!!!

I am just as excited for crash and overgrown now as i was back when i played them in the BETA. I hope eventually they add Vacant.

...Eh, although I'll probably get them, IW could have mixed it up, half of those screens I could almost place in existing maps.

Look around the interwebs a little, you may be able to find it...try thetechgame.com under mw2 glitches forums.....just sayin...not that i saw it there just now or nothing...but....I did. Its the bees knees!

nuke game type: nuke care package in middle of map everyone is fighting for it. free- for all

ESC, a copyright claim by activision doesn't necessarily confirm the map pack since 2 of the maps have already been released.

But I don't like paying for them...

I'll be pretty disappointed if what we get is mostly just maps from CoD4. I know we're bound to get some new ones too but, I don't know, just feels boring if we get old ones. They did this with the CoD4 map packs too but at least they changed them up a little bit and had the whole hook of making them "modern".

I think you mean Map Pack, only one came out for COD4. And it was only three maps.

Greatsam, That last one is called "KillHouse"

Its called Global Thermalnuclear War. Its already on the disc but hidden.....and its the bees knees if you have ever been able to get into a game with it (they are out there, as modded content to unlock it off the disc for now, but they don't come up too often at all)
