Ludwig offered some high praise in our Best of the Rest series for Shatter, the Arkanoid-inspired PSN arcade game. Not content on making the game exclusive to PS3 owners, developer Sidhe has announced a new platform for brick-busting: the PC. Arriving on Steam in "the coming weeks," the PC port will feature new game modes, including Endless, Endless Co-Op, Time Attack and Time Attack Co-op.
Fans of the original Shatter eager to get their hands on the new content won't have to buy the PC version, though. Sidhe director Mario Wynands told the NeoGAF community that "we will be bringing the new modes back to the PSN version"; however, it's unclear if the new modes will arrive as a free title update, or premium DLC. "[We] haven't worked out the exact nature or timing of that yet," Wynands told PSN Stores. Considering the low price of the original, we're certain fans won't mind spending a few more dollars to access the new content.

The soundtrack to this game is amazing. I must have watched the making-of video at least twenty times, and I'm so grateful I can stream the soundtrack of off Sidhe's wesbsite. The soundtrack was probably my favourite part of the game (the gameplay's good too).

Shatter is one of my all time favorite PSN titles besides Trine. Glad there's going to be some new stuff he heading my way in the near future.

One of the few games where I can honestly say I wouldn't mind paying for the dlc. This games was one of my favorite psn purchases and well worth the price.

Well, I already own it on the PSN, but I'll definitely pick it up on the PC for portability. I think shatter is my favorite PSN game out of the ones I've played. (My experience is limited since most PSN games don't have demos and I don't buy games based off half-paragraph descriptions alone)

I was just thinking about buying this today on PSN. Now I feel the need to wait.

Though now that you mention it it seems logical that they would make an XBLA version. PC and 360 development is more or less the same, so it would be an easy way to expand their potential customer base. Especially considering downloadable titles tend to do really, really well on XBLA.

Have not played the game yet. Went to the shatter website and the soundtrack does sound really cool. Not a fan of this type of music all that much but this is a go for me. I think i will wait for the PC version though, need to replace the laser on my PS3 already took it apart so don't want to put it together till i receive the part, anyway cool story rights bros.
