Ponyo is my favorite movie of all time. So beautiful, such a perfect story. Tina Fey is a voice actor in it also.

My Neighbor Totoro is probably my favorite of his films. I watched the version dubbed by Fox when I was little, and I was absolutely disturbed when I mistakenly picked up the Disney version.

I just don't get Ponyo. It's about a man who boinks a fishlady and gets a baby that isn't a fish who screams ALL the time? And there is a flood and then nothing kinda happens more... oh the fishbaby screams some more, and some more....

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heavens Door. The series was great, as was the movie.

When I was a kid though, I'd say Pagemaster was my favorite.

I have not had the honor of seeing any of the movies listed as the prizes, but I have heard of Castle in the Sky as well as Kiki's Delivery Service. The only Studio Ghibli movie I have seen was Spirited Away.

Akira is my favorite. Although Miyazaki has many stunning films, I have never been able to erase the memory of my first viewing of the Neo-Tokyo Motorcycle chase.

Halfway through season two of 24. Slowly catching up to the rest of the world. Just saw Whiteout which was less than meh. Still waiting for Inglourious Basterds to get off of "very long wait" status from Netflix. :/

Wizards was a pretty kick-ass title and one of my all time favorites. I've been a Ralph Bakshi fan ever since I saw 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'American Pop'. I even saw his version of 'Felix the Cat' waaaaaaaaaay back in the day and I still have no idea how to feel about it. In fact, I bought, not too long ago, Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures on DVD. That was when I found out that Ralph Bakshi had mentored John Kricfalusi, the guy who made Ren and Stimpy.

I just realized how old I am.

Favorite animated flick, eh? If I was put on the spot, I'd default to The Lion King or [Tim Burton's] The Nightmare Before Christmas, both from my young childhood and both that have stuck with me despite the turbulent years of growth.

As for what I've recently watched, original dub Paprika. I need to get that movie onto my sister's/folks' Netflix, so that 1) they can see the beautiful WTF of the animation, and 2) so I can watch it in English, and thus be able to focus on the visuals better. Also, that song, gah, beautiful chaos with a kiddy/traditional-song sort of overlay/base. It's demented, but bright instead of creepy. I guess.

Although I do love me some Kiki's Delivery Service!

My favorite animated film just so happens to be Studio Ghibli's "Howle's Moving Castle."

Why: As with any Ghibli film i sit down to watch, the quality of the animation and attention to detail is SUCH a breath of fresh air compared to the cartoons you see on tv everyday (for the record, i live in New York City so I know how rare fresh air can be.) Howle's moving Castle looks the best so far and it makes me wish disney hadn't gone all 3-D.

Thank you. I love you.

A Scanner Darkly.

I watched Princess Mononoke for the first time a couple weeks ago. Wow. It was my first Miyazaki film. I have a really hard time enjoying anime, but PM was great. Only downside was the questionable dub. I love Keith David and Billy Bob Thornton, but their voicework was less than stellar.

I know it doesn't have to Miyazaki, but "Princess Mononoke" is the film that got me into anime and so it has a special place at the top of my favorite movie list. "Spirited Away" is a close second.

"The Lion King" is pretty bitchin' though.

My favorite animated movie has to be The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. It really start as a slice of life movie but things turn really dramatic through the second half. The animation/music/voice acting is top notch. If anyone has not seen it look this one up, it highly recommend it.

Oh man, both Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service are fantastic. There is something calming about watching them. They are some of my favorite movies in my anime collection.

Some of my other favorites would have to be the original Ghost In The Shell, Akira and Perfect Blue.
