No, no, no! Stop porting games that don't work! Shooters don't work! Fighters don't work!

Namco, get to work on Soul Calibur V instead.

That's a great game, yes, but the controls aren't good.

@dv8thwonder: i dont think thats it at all, i think the market is just so different for the wii that these companies dont know what theyre doing.

What has namco released for the wii to compete with nintendo? A terrible soul calibur hack and slash and a jrpg that isnt final fantasy, and neither of those are million sellers. Same thing with capcom, they too have lost their minds. Off the top of my head, capcom has released harvey birdman, some resident evil ports, 2 resident evil rail shooters, a TERRIBLE port of dead rising, an adventure game with super kiddie japanese graphics, a fighting game filled with a roster of unknowns outside of japan, and a horrible beat em up with lame characters. Not a single one of those games are the kinds of games that fly off the shelves, and they still havent learned. Monster hunter has never been a big hit anywhere but japan, so i doubt its going to do that well.

They just dont know what to do with the wii. Capcom has tons of franchises sitting dormant they could explore. Besides dead rising and lost planet, theyve only made money off of proven franchises so far. Dark voids a flop, just like bionic commando was. Street fighter, resident evil, devil may cry... Thats their bread and butter.

These companies need to stop releasing obsure, niche titles, and terrible ports for the wii and then blaming nintendo for poor sales.

It is amazing how these games come on the IPhone and not the Wii for instance. Don't give me the excuse that the Wii is too "casual", the IPhone is as if not more "casual" than the Wii!

The iPhone SDK is 100 dollars. Porting costs probably are under 10 thousand. It's a low-risk thing.

@ Blight - iPhone SDK is free, being allowed to publish and run your apps outside the simulator is $100.

Apple either wont allow it or is making their own, not sure what they're waiting for though. I've spent $30+ on iPhone games and every last one of em could benefit from a gamepad with buttons. Nothing too extravagant, a dpad and 2 buttons NES style is all I need, but it needs to happen before Microsoft/Sony come to the marketplace.

It all depends how it's done. Blades of Fury for the iPhone is an amazing fighting game, built specificly for the iPhone. The fighting and controls are top notch for a fighting game. Blades of Fury does show that fighting games work on the iPhone...it all depends if Namco or Capcom does the ports right

If you look at the footage, the controls seems to be great considering that this is a touch screen control.

Well someone must be buying these games for these clueless companies to keep porting games that were originally for physical buttons. I just wish devs completely focused on games totally made for the platform instead of trying to put FPS after FPS and Fighting games, games such as Angry Birds totally immerse me, because it's that effing good, but N.O.V.A is a minute fest playtime at best... Either someone needs to release a GOOD effing controller accessory or stop this shit.
