Wow, Macs as a gaming platform is totally en vogue this week. First, we've got Valve teasing something Apple related. Now, Direct2Drive is holding a sale on all its Mac games ... you know, all five of them. Kidding, there's way more than five. Some big ones in there too, like Dragon Age: Origins, offered at 50 percent off ($33). Other highlights include:

PC being the better gaming platform has never had anything to do with the games offered or the developers choosing to use it over the Mac.
It has everything to do with price, the ability to upgrade, and the ability to self-troubleshoot.
There's no such thing as an ivory tower when something is actually a better platform for something. You don't say "I've been sitting in my pickup truck ivory tower when all this time I could have been using an El Camino for my heavy hauling needs!"
Just because something can be used for something else doesn't mean it's actually good for it.

Sometimes I feel like you guys (the community) are frothing at the mouth, just biding your time until you see an excuse to bash mac.
Anyway, this is a neat little sale, but I really hope these Steam rumors are true.

Really, I'm with you, but all you're going to do is start a flame war.

Did I end up in oppositeville? I think you meant that Apple fanboys always claim that Macs are better. If you knew anything about game development, or actually visited a game studio, you would realize that they do use windows for all that stuff. The only people who use Macs for animation and character models are out-of-work hipsters.

People should buy Dragon Age instead of tedious Final Fantasy 13. I know that it has the brand name and all, but please grow up and buy a game for adults with a mature story.

Relax, buddy.
I'll play what I like, and I happen to enjoy both Dragon Age and Final Fantasy.
Heresy, I know.
