It doesn't take much to excel in this thing of ours. You have to have brass whatnots, be willing to do some unsavory acts and put the family above all else -- basically, don't be Fredo. It's not that hard, when you think about it, but the latest trailer for 2K Games' Mafia II disagrees. Apparently, in post-WWII, there weren't a lot of guys who had the stomach to use cover-based shooting mechanics and traverse a sandbox-style environment. Frankly, we're shocked that The Greatest Generation had any shortcomings at all!
Mafia II trailer needs guys like you

Game's going to be incredible, just like the first. I heard this was GFW, anyone know? I'd love to have 360 gamepad support.

looks great but I think I'm gonna pass until I hear about it. I kind of wish it wasn't open-world.

If it continues in the tradition of the first game the open world just functions as a really believable setting for some incredible missions. And we've seen a lot of stuff like the interiors of factories and hotels for the action sequences, so I don't think it's going to be quite what you think.

L.A. Noir will probably come out before this vaporware does. That, and L.A. Noire will be better

Not bad, Godfather 2 was quite good, I'm tired of Mafia games yet.

anyone who beat mafia1 knows this is going to be an amazingly cinematic experience. mafia1 was one of the few free-roaming 3ps games of its generation that wasn't a gta clone. unlike all the gtaclones, mafia1 created a genuine atmosphere. i don't think i have as much faith in la noire as i do in mafia2.

I really loved Mafia 1, and I really craved for a seque.
But it has been too long... I'm afraid that this won't have the same feeling the first one had :(

Wow this looks great! And the framerate looks very smooth. It's on my radar now. :)

The 1950s setting is great. I just hope it'll be less linear than the first game. After finishing the main game, the Freeride mode was shallower than GTA.

60 fps in a trailer of a multiplatform title? Why don't you see this more often?
Maybe it shows that the PC version is not FPS-capped, but a cinematic experience like Mafia would actually make better use of a slower FPS for that movie-like touch.
