The demo did no justice to the game. I wasn't too impressed at the time, but I had brought the game and I am enjoying it a lot.

Tried the demo on PS3 and couldn't stay connected for more than a minute. So back to MW2 I went. Though this looked like fun:(

I loved BC1 despite its flaws and EA | DICEs absolute disregard for maintaining and repairing their product.

I HATED both the PS3 Beta and XBox Demos of this game.

However, I must say i was stunned when I popped the disc in on release night. They fixed so much so fast that it has partially restored my faith in DICE.

BC2 is a must have for any open minded FPSer or Battlefield Vet.

See you on the Battlefield, hide your tags!

Love it too, but I suck on the PC and rule on the Xbox. I use to do very well on the PC version of BF2.
Likes: Gadgets - the spotter scope is the BEST
Being a "Dentist"
Dislikes: No AA missiles for the Chopper mongers to fear.
Shadows are a bit wonky (PC and 360)
My PC is too slow = laggy FPS (not really a game issue, it's not crysis)

Good point actually I'd forgotten about the missing AA emplacements - they always kept the chopper and MiG pilots on their toes. Does the apache have the tankbuster tv controlled missile still? I've only piloted it once or twice and was all over the place - controls are....interesting...on the PS3. How I wish someone would make a PS3 FPS compatible with a keyboard and mouse!

I'm over the missing Prone option though. I think it helps keep the game moving and it's not like there aren't enough decent places to snipe from still

Never flew in the attack yet, but I understood that the UAV has the missle and the copper only a gunner. I find the chopper requires too many rockets to shoot down.
The UAV can be brought down with a couple of pistol shots.

I don't know if this helps, but I set the controls to BC1 settings. It's an option. The flying is pretty easy.

Kill cam keeps the snipers moving, the smart snipers that is.

I love it! I enjoyed the first game, unlike some people I've talked to. The sequel's multiplayer seems much more balanced and crisp, and I've really been happy with my purchase.

If you wanna play with someone that is not a screaming racist 12-year old lunatic, give me a friend request on the 360, im always looking for squadmates, and the biomass is much more fun than the random crap flung at you in matchmaking.

I do like the multiplayer, but if you're one of those people that plays online by yourself the majority of the time, I'd pass on this unless you're willing to squad up. I'm flying solo for the most part and I can tell it's not nearly as fun as it would be with friends. None of my friends are interested in buying this, though.

Shrug. I'm not using my VIP code card for the extra maps...I'll probably sell this in a few months and be able to retain at least some of the value if it comes with an unused code.

i'm trading this game in, EA's can take project $10 and eff themselves with it.

I can't access the two Maps because it's unsharable even on ONE ps3 because they linked the VIP code to ONE account which is total bullshit. Sony needs to do something about this restricted content being unsharable. People like myself with multiple consoles, and family are getting screwed out of content already on the disc. It's an act of desperation on EA's part and a choice that will hurt them in the long run.

You're trading it in because of two maps?

Try pinging one of the devs on Twitter, or leave a comment on the BF Blog. From my experience, they're really good about getting back to you.

yeah i left a thread on their message board asking why they had to charge $15 for two maps and they deleted my thread today. I called them out on it and all of the BFBC2 fanboys attacked me.

It's some dirty tactics that EA is pulling, I let my little brother redeem the VIP but now me and my 3rd brother have to pay $15 each on top of the $62 i paid for the game BRAND NEW. $30 to access content I already paid for, when every other game and piece of DLC is shareable between PS3's and PSN accounts. I messaged Chris from the PS Blog on PSN about it and have told many of my friends who share consoles not to but it also.

last thing its NOT DLC it's already on the disc but locked. You guys can take it up the ass by EA but where will it stop? You let them do this and I guarantee you it's going to become worst in the future.

I agree with Solace. Cerberus network on ME2 was also bullshit. It took me a week with crappy EA customer service just to get it working. I then had to download it 3 times because it wouldn't show up. And I can't access the dlc unless I'm online. All they did was take out content to put as DLC as a "reward."

It isn't a reward, idiots. They just took content out of the game. EA deserves the money since they were able to get all the sheep to follow them blindly.

exactly not everyone uses a console solely for themselves or would ever want to share an account. and gamers are ignorant enough to squeal like little girls when they hear the word "Limited Edition" or "Free DLC" when in reality all of the content being held back by EA should be available from day 1 without a unique code.

Next they're going to charge you for the ending of a game. Just watch this is the start, and it'll back fire on gamers and even more so EA.

It clearly says that you get all upcoming maps for free as well with the code, so it's not just "locked out content". I'm pretty sure this code only comes with the LE, that would make sense to me. Depending on how far you want to go with this game... I know it's lame, but I'd shell out the 15 if I were you. I'm sure they'll release future stuff that'll cost more in total.

I'm no fanboy for this game (read above) but telling me I can take it up the ass is not winning your argument for me.

First of all Yes your situation sucks but don't act like EA is purposely screwing you over. For the most part a large majority (note I have not taken a poll) of consumers buy the game for themselves or a gift for someone. When that game is purchased for themselves they get not only free DLC day one, but now they get at least 1 Map pack free. Saving people who buy the game new at least the price of one Map pack (and in Mass Effect 2's case 1 or more mission packs). It also insures that the community isn't separated as much (Again no poll) buy those who bought the DLC and those who didn't.

Day One DLC shouldn't always be free. If it were then their "Don't buy our game used for only 5 dollars cheaper" plan would fail. As a freelance artist I would charge EA by the hour and not by the project. If I was asked to create extra content while the game went through it's 8-12 week certification, you can bet I'd charge them for it. In doing so though EA tries to justify spending this little bit extra in the beginning for profit later on. Their risk... not mine. It's also their content now.

Who would I say you should blame for your situation? Not EA. Their method currently is to counter consumers trying to save 5 dollars by buying used and piracy (I hate pirates. Makes getting my next job harder). It's been one of the few (and my favorite) ways a company has said "Thank you for supporting us and buying it New" and it doesn't say "You bought used and lost us a ton of money!" Well it sorta does but it's optional slap in the face!

It's not perfect. If it were up to me, you'd get a download code in the box.The DLC could then be tied to your account and your console so your family could play it. For me that is more then acceptable. (not PS3's send this DLC 1 person paid for, to 4 people who didn't) You have to imagine EA had to sell this to investors and make it sound safe for stock holders. Once it gains (and I hope it does) main appeal, I would assume you'll see it open up more. For now, do what you think is right. I'm not trying to tell you what to do.

@Jerry All the items you get at Gamestop you can get without pre-ordering. The weapon you can unlock in about 4-6 hours depending on skill. The Exclusive mode is open to everyone in 30 days.

(Though with Mass Effect 2 Pre-ordering at Gamestop did get you an exclusive you couldn't get anywhere else.)

I agree with deaftly and I've only played the demo. No game I've ever played emphasizes teamwork and coordination with such badass scenarios that you--the player--can create. Other games need setpieces in the campaign to pull of some regular gameplay moments in BC2's multiplayer.

Just...pure greatness.

So, I'm a PC BFBC2 er... and it's been pretty frustrating to get into a game. Once you're in a game, you don't have that many problems at all, although some have said that there is voice ghosting or something. I just wished that the product was up to code on the release day, I know it will be in the future but when looking forward to this kind of stuff and then finally getting it, it can be a downer. Also, I understand that prepin servers for this large of a magnitude is very difficult. I shall have patience with DICE, as they have provided me and my friends with lots of wasted hours lan playin BF2.

You should update Punkbuster manually (if you haven't already). That fixed my online problems.

Go to www.evenbalance.com click Support, and download it. Run the game, add Bad Company 2, and click "Check for updates", and your online problems should be fixed.

Good luck!
