For those of you looking to put your '80s singing chops to the test, it would appear that iNiS will be offering you just that chance if a recent ESRB listing for a fourth installment in the Lips series is to be believed. "Lips: I (Heart) the 80s" was recently spotted by IGN over on the ratings website, sporting a description that reveals at least two tracks from the 1980s-centric title -- The Police's "Roxanne" and Rick James' "Super Freak."
The game is also said to feature "depictions of men and women in revealing outfits performing provocative choreography -- for example, women in negligees, black bras, panties dancing inside a classroom; large amounts of exposed cleavage, some grinding dance moves; and background images of storefronts/signs reading '25 cent Peepshows,' 'Live Sex Theatre,' and 'Topless Girls Dancing.'" Gosh golly! Regardless, with the recent release of Lips: Party Classics and today's ESRB listing, we have to imagine the official announce of Lips: I (Heart) the 80s is just around the corner. We'll be prepping our boom boxes with plenty of Public Enemy until then.

So pretty much like Guitar Hero, huh?
This may be REALLY good (me, woot!) for some and meh for others.

The only friends on my list ever playing it were from the UK, none too surprising considering Singstar's relative popularity in the UK/Europe. I'd imagine it did well enough over there.
Haven't played it personally, but I've used the Microphones in other band games and they are extremely nice. Might pick it up just for those.

I have all three of them. It's the one game that my wife will play on the 360 with me, so if that's what it takes. The first and second ones I bought once Target had clearanced them 50% and 75%, respectively. It was only the 3rd one that I bought the week it was released. Picked up a few Avatar awards, since evidently no one wants to sing "Brick House."
That saying, the Lips acheivements have "outed" some of the songs for the past week. If you look on Xbox.com at someone who has played the game, it lists several of the songs in the "80's disc."
Regarding the song selections, at least LIPS gives the choice of playing songs that don't have the "standard" guitar, bass, drums, and lyrics. And they don't get any LIP for having a variety of genres. Finally, all their music has been originals - never had covers of anything.

@ Toop
I just found out the hard way that using those little arrow brackets that you get when you hold shift on the comma and period keys end your comments. I tried to make a "less-than-three-heart" and it just didn't show up.
Epic fail. I actually had a good comment about a "Hip Hop Hero" too.

I wish they would somehow allow you to import all the songs from each of the discs into your library......switching discs to play the songs from each version of the game is ANNOYING.

I love SingStar (even though you have to create a UK account to get the really good songs); is it worth getting Lips too?
