BioWare's space opera epic, Mass Effect 2, is Amazon's "Deal of the Day." The Xbox 360 version is currently $40, which is $10 cheaper than you'd pick it up at your local Quarian pawn shop. A PC copy is 40 percent off, with a $30 price tag.
At that price, one could pick up Mass Effect 1 and 2 for the regular retail price of the sequel. For those who like their sci-fi soapy and their shooters refined, this is a deal worth going through the Omega 4 Relay for -- see, if you play the game, you'll know what that means.
[Thanks, Russ P!]

Already got one for my computer! I generally accept that I can pay 30 to 40 for a bioware game and feel I get my cash's worth. 30 dollars is fantastic, especially if it comes with some free DLC.

Paying 30 instead of 50 doesn't make me a thing other than frugal. 60 is right out!

I couldn't by the Mass Effect 2 later because I had to beat the game atleast 2 or 3 times before BFBC2 and God of War 3 came out...

I own Mass Effect 1, but I could not play very much of it due to the fear of dying from boredom. It's a lot of walking around and very boring dialogue. By the time I got to the action, I was half asleep. It took me a while to figure out that my own gun was killing me by overheating. It was taking 10 shots per enemy with my little pea-shooter. It's insane that you have to take a break from shooting a single enemy to let your weapon cool down or else it kills you. Oh well, maybe I'll give it another try some day.
Anyway, I'm in no hurry to try Mass Effect 2...

I LOVE the first Mass Effect, and with that said I can't stand playing it now that I've played the second.
Regardless of your feelings for the first one, I can assure you the second one is well worth it.

Anyone else a little disappointed they timed this sale the DAY before the preorder bonus (10 dollars towards a video game purchase) for FFXIII is activated? Sigh. I need this one cheap because I already have FFXIII and GoWIII preordered. Oh well, hopefully it goes down in price sometime again soon!

i'm hoping someone can help me out here.
I know next to nothing about computers. i have the first mass effect on my 360, but i'm on my 4th system, and the others were fine because they were under warranty, but this one isn't and it is about to go belly up, so i was thinking of getting it for my laptop instead. problem is, i'm not sure my sistem can handle it. i have a real basic dell inspiron 15. The graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. would i be able to play me2 on this system? any help would be appreciated.

From the back of the box. No, you will not be able to play it, or at least not well if you manage to get it running.

Mr. Alexander Sliwinski, you need to decapitalize "quarian" in the "Quarian pawn shop" part of this article. Play Mass Effect for 5 minutes, you'll see that they NEVER capitalize the first letter of race names in ME. Just like you don't capitalize the d in "dog" or the h in "human" or the c in "cat" or anything else. ME is actually one of the few sci-fi settings that accurately decapitalizes race names. Shame on you for playing both ME1 and ME2 and missing this detail.

Games drop in price so quickly these days. After a month from release, ME2 used was $32 shipped on Ebay. Maybe it's a singleplayer game thing. Strong MP games seem to stay expensive on Ebay for a long time.
