I think he looks more like Cole's (from Gears of War) long lost brother.

Or a really angry black guy from Sierra Leone.

For now on if a game touts destructible environments then we better be able to collapse buildings. If not then the publisher has lied to us...

Bad Company 2's an awesome game that I've been playing the last week straight, but when I hear "destructible environment" I don't think Battlefield, I think Red Faction: Guerrilla. That game had some crazy destruction.

I never did play Black, but a few people tell me it was decent at best. And I remember seeing one of the developers from Codemasters Stuart Black talking about how lame and boring First Person Shooters are now and how he can't play them? Well, this game they're making better be pretty revolutionary. We'll see how it turns out. I'll remain skeptical.

I haven't played it since it first came out but I don't remember it being that great... decent seems like a fitting description IMO, but I can understand that others may have enjoyed it more.

I also found it to be decent, but I don't really remember what was wrong with it at this point.

It was decent. It was basically *just* a shooter. No story, no gameplay elements other than run n gun; lots of guns and flying bullets.

I think the main issue with it was that the levels took ages and you couldn't save at a checkpoint, you had to complete them in one session.

A counter wouldn't be cool enough, they should challenge the player by making them count the bodies themselves, and then later beings quizzed on exactly how many bodies should have been counted. This quiz will decide on whether or not you actually complete the game, it may just make you start over with the counting of the bodies.

I'm a multiplayer kinda guy, and was incredibly disappointed that Black didn't have online. The game was awesome and really pushed the PS2 to its graphical limits. It was a precursor to Battlefield Bad Company 1's engine IMO, in that Black featured a ton of destructible environments.

I'm actually really excited about this one, we'll see how it will turn out.

I think destruction and the amazing physics that come with it is the single most desired feature im looking forward to when new consoles hit store shelves in a few years. i know they are already starting to do it pretty well on current machines (see RF:G and hopefully crysis2) but i fully expect destructible environments to become the norm in the next generation. and i fully support it (obviously if they do it properly)

I recieved my copy of OXM this morning, and, ablazened on the front cover is the game in question here.

A few qoutes from the article:
"A realistic military shooter this is not - it's pure comic book"
"Literally carve your way through the level in a hail of bullets"
"It's not just enemies that weapons have a devastating effect on"

I'll find a way of posting some of the pics if enough people ask for it...

Ok, I have taken some photos of the magazine pages and put them up on Photobucket. Please note though, I have deliberately blurred out the main text in the article, if you want to read what it says then go out and buy a copy of the magazine as soon as it becomes available...
