Yes! Ive been waiting for another PoP for the longest time!
On the Assassin's Creed engine too! I hope they stay true to what the trilogy did for the series.

Thank god the remake is getting blown to the side. This is epic. I wonder if the combat flow was brought back too?

I'm glad it's part of the original Prince of Persia trilogy and not some quickly made movie tie-in.

Gyllenhaal would be another person who's a hero. The movies he's created over the years, I don't really watch them, but the fact that he's making them, I respect that.

I don't think it's a movie game, it's a different story. It's just being released along the movie for publicity.

I love it and I'll pick it up first day, but I still wish they'd continue with the 2008 Prince's story at some point.

I'm really excited that they're going back to the Sands of Time style at least one more time, but I'm also concerned that because of the possible relation to the movie (however small it might be) it could be crap. Still, that footage was nice.

Same here. Sounds interesting but I don't really care anymore. I'll probably rent it on 360. And, as Marx says, rent is theft. So, I'll be stealing the game by not giving Ubisoft any money for it.

Oh well, it's what they wanted.

I'm not going to buy anything thats uses that new DRM shit (or any absurdly inconvenient drm for that matter) Ubisoft really now has screwed PC gamers and PC gaming with that.

I hope for their own good they realize their enormous mistake sooner than later..

I just didn't like the fact that you could only use your sword when you were in battle. Minor complaint yes, but not having full control over your character half of the game kinda blows in my opinion.

No, I am disappointed about this too. To be honest I was never a bit fan of the sands of time trilogy, mainly because although they looked like a fun open-level parcour games, the truth was that they had very narrow paths and few alternate choices, if any, for moving through the levels. What should have felt like tremendously free games instead, imo at least, felt almost like you were stuck on rails.

The newest reboot of the franchise on the other hand I found quite enjoyable, if not a little too easy thanks to the whole "you can't really die" thing.

Yes! Exactly. And the graphics were so incredibly artistic and gorgeous. And I loved the dialog between the prince and Elika.

It was fixable, you know? They could have tweaked the 'no death' issue and maybe stepped up the combat a little bit to make it less repetitive, and saved the new series. I guess they probably did this to look more like the definitely-going-to-be-shitty movie, but it still just seems like a waste of a good reboot to me.

I liked the reboot better than SoT trilogy as well. It was more artistic and beautiful all around, the characters felt very lively (I loved the dialogues!) and the combat although repetitive offered many possibilities if only it was tweaked a little bit more. The difficulty sure could get some upping (specially during the fights - most of them I would just hit the enemy once off the edge and that was it, the bosses weren't that hard either), but I don't mind the "no death" issue, as, in the end of the day, being rescued and going back to the last checkpoint was essentially the same thing as dying.

I just loved the overall experience as much as I loved the first Uncharted (which remains as one of the best PS3 games I've played so far). It was really that good. Too bad they wasted such opportunity :/

Couldn't agree more. The water-color-esque graphics of PoP from '08 were breathtaking.

So many people get hung up on "graphics" and texture sizes and all that crap, but miss the big picture that is "art design."

I would argue that there are many games with high res textures and high poly counts that are easily trumped by "SMG Galaxy" simply because the style was so well refined. I mean, how many sci-fi "Space Marine" style shooters do we need?

Let's see some genuine creativity people!

I'm psyched, but I really, really hate the new, extra-broad face they modeled for the Prince in this game. Why not just make him look like he did (facially) in the cinemas from Warrior Within/Two Thrones?
