If we're lucky, they won't port The Path. That way, my iPhone won't be stolen when I fall asleep from playing that game.

While reading the title, for a second I thought Namco was releasing a new "Tales of" game for the iPhone.

Isn't that what Tales of the World and Tales Vs. is all about, Tales crossovers along the lines of Super Robot Wars, Kingdom Hearts, and Dissidia?

I looked up a YouTube video of the old lady dying once. She just kind of puts her head down when she's on the bench. So yeah. She just kind of... dies. She's sitting around one second and the next, she's dead. I don't know if that's worth $2. I mean, she doesn't even explode or anything.

I haven't played the graveyard (nor do I want to) but this is my experience with The Path:

Attempt 1: walk on path for 30 seconds, leave path to see what happens. Wander aimlessly for 30 mins -> find graveyard. -> find random werewolf. -> try to attack werewolf -> girl jumps on back of wolf ->girl is now injured in the rain -> take 10 mins to walk 100 ft to a house -> I win

Attempt 2: Follow path for a very, very, very, long, boring uneventful time -> eventual game over

Attempt 3: Screw it, I try to leave by walking backward down the path ->lots, and lots of slow, boring walking -> Eventually find a payphone -> call for rescue from this trash -> game over.

That is what happened. For the record, The Path isn't a game. Do not confuse it with a game. Do not expect to be fun, or worth your time, or worth your money. Instead of trying to get entertainment out of something so disgraceful, go outside and walk (or drive) around for 2 hours. Congratulations! you just had more fun than playing The Path (and the exercise is good too!)

I can one-up you here, because I haven't played Graveyard OR the Path, but I will still comment on this issue like I have a clue.

GY and the Path are like Heavy Rain. These games are not about fun gameplay, they are about decisions and how they affect the ending. I mean, look at Heavy Rain: It's basically 6 hours of Dragon's Lair controls. The cool part of Heavy Rain isn't "push left! oh, shake the controller! cuz it says so!" the cool part is choosing whether or not you want to do such a thing, and watching how it affects the game.

Compare/contrast with a game like Modern Warfare2, where you have no impact on the ending, and you're just linearly conquering twitch challenges and simple puzzles that the developer has put in front of you until you reach the inevitable conclusion of the game.

The strength of MW2 is that it's fun to just sit there and play it. Even with no story. Heavy Rain is much more fun to watch, because since it has ditched gameplay in favor of decisions, it can focus on its presentation.

I can't think of any game out there that is both really fun to watch AND to play. Games that are fun to play usually involve having a little guy on the screen running around. You would never shoot a movie like this. Games that are fun to watch rob you of control.

CYNICISM.

Although I feel I made my point with that first sentence, let me elaborate:
WHY?

Please tell me that I'm not the only one who understands what this company is doing or why it's significant.
