Odds are if you've been trying to track down a new PS3 lately, you're having one heck of a time. Well, if you wouldn't mind plunking down a bit of coin to get one in a few weeks' time, then you may be interested in what Dell's got going on right now.
The retailer has taken $30 off the standard price for the 120GB PS3 Slim, bringing it down to a pleasant $269 -- the caveat being that Dell won't actually ship the system until an estimated 10 days after you purchase it (details here).
For a bit of perspective, know that basically anywhere you try to purchase a PS3 online, you're going to be waiting a while -- unless you get one from a third-party merchant on Amazon, where you can replace "impatiently waiting" with "spending a lot more money."

Save yourself the weeks of frustration you'll have with Dell customer service and just pay the extra $30 at a retail store. Dell's shipping is a nightmare.

What's up with this? I've been trying to get one at ToysRUs; but cannot find one within reasonable distance to pick it up. I've saved up my credit card rebates to be able to get one of these and it appears they're nowhere to be had.
Sony better release an awesome bundle pack here real soon to make up for the supply shortage. I want my second PS3! Oh, and the bundle system should have backwards compatibility back in it too.

I've been trying to track one down for the last week. They are sold out EVERYWHERE. My Target got 6 in the other day and I was able to buy one. I was always an xbox 360 guy.. but I have been reborn fellas! Don't get me wrong.. both are great consoles.. but I think I'm a one console guy now. All my friends have jumped the xbox live ship and are now on PSN. See ya'll online! :)

my old (20gb) Ps3 got the YLOD bug late last month. After a week of searching around, I found 120gb model had just come in stock on Amazon for $299. Only a few days later, they were marked up to $369, so good thing I acted fast.
Other sites I was looking at were SonyStyle (bad reviews) and Dell (out of stock)

Costco. I picked one up a week or two ago for about $260, IIRC. That included a copy of the first (!!) Drake's Fortune (already have it and beat it) and one of the PS3 BluRay remotes.
Mine may have been an 80GB model, but it was one of the new slim versions. I don't really need much drive space so I saw no point to pay more.
