Battlestar Galactica MMO announced (don't get too frakkin' excited)

I see no pornstars, and I'm slightly disappointed because of it.

That's my summation of the show too! Except I hated the last half season.

but yes, the second half was particularly painful. I really wanted to kick Ron Moore and Jane Espenson in the jaws after that series ended.

If you wonder why the show got weird towards the end, it's because the producers admitted they had no idea where it was going, and just made it up as they went along.

That's like the people who completely discount TOS because "TNG is teh betters!"

Uh..... have you guys watched the original battlestar galactica? It was horrible. Admittedly I didn't watch it when it was originally on tv, so it was bound to lose some of its appeal, but damn, it was bad.

What? Don't be an idiot. What a pathetic attempt at argument. It's not because they used more money, it's because it's a thousand times better! If they new mario game featuring a lady mario was a much, much better game than the originals, even that doesn't mean male mario means nothing, it just means lady mario is BETTER! Even if the show did get weird at the end, that was the end, it wasn't shitty the entire way through like the old one.
@Dr. Blight- I love both of them, but in this case, the new one is entirely better than the original. This is like when people bitched about heath ledger being the Joker instead of jack nicholson. The Mario example is a poor one.

It would be like, if 30 years from now they made a new Haze game featuring a female character and the game was awesome. You would be the (only) guy talking about how it's not true to the original shitty Haze game that no one cards about anymore.

If it has a Battlestar named Galactica in it, it's frakking Battlestar Galactica, ok? It's not like the show was named "Super Starbuck Galaxy" or "Starbuck Cart Wii".

Mario games need Mario to be Mario games. Battlestar Galactica does not need Starbuck, or his/her gender, to be Battlestar Galactica.

If it did need Starbuck, I guess you'd also say they should change the name of the show if Dirk Benedict/Katee Sackhoff quit their respective shows after the first seasons.

My point was because it has higher production values than the original, doesn't mean the original is worthless.

What YOU feel is shitty and what other people think are shitty can be different things. The new series concentrated on sex appeal. Was it a bad show? No. Does that mean the original is now worthless? No. Just like the original Adam West Batman. Was it cheesy? Yes. Was it good? Yes. Did the fact that Batman the movie was better make the original worthless? No.

It's also that they can't drop the show. After being SciFi's biggest hit for years, and the final episode, they made a movie, and now a spin-off series. They even tried to copy it with StarGate: Universe.

The show went weird towards the end because they didn't have an overall story written for the series. They admitted it. They wrote the mini-series, and had nothing else, because they didn't know if it would be picked up.

and MY point, again, wasn't that the new one was better because of production values. It was better because it was BETTER. And man, for frak's sake, don't try to convince a guy who pretends to be Batman his opinions about Batman are wrong. That show was worthless the moment it aired, using that is an extremely poor example, because the Adam west show was guilty of far far more outrageous "starbucking" of the original comics than BSG ever was.

I didn't know your opinion of the Adam West Batman. I liked it, many people did not.

YOU like the new Battlestar Galatica better. I say it's an ok show that dwelled too much on sex, and I remember the original one. The original was a huge hit in it's day, and whatever you think about it now, it is still a huge scifi hit of yesterday.

That Lost one is neat, I'd never seen it before. But I still think the BSG one looks more dynamic. In the Lost photo, they really look like they are just at supper lol, and a boring one at that.. BSG's has more dramatic poses similar to the painting it imitates.

You know what could be worse?

Seriously, you screw over the bad guys, making them look worse than the
ones in the game, and you have a submarine sequence in space, where
everyone is quiet so they won't get bombed? So sound won't travel in
space? Seems they missed that memo.
