Definitely not.

They should work on getting their servers working first though before worrying about porting the game over to Mac. They were apparently unprepared enough for all the PC/360/PS3 players, so let's not go adding any more people into the mix just yet, DICE. kthx

Well, I very much doubt, that even in the DICE team, the programmers who do the ports are the ones who deal primarily with the network code. What people always seem to forget is, that these are large specialized teams.

So does this make the PC/Mac platform make it viable to develop for PC/Mac exclusively or at least less half assed ports. Plus we all know Pc gamers are way better at TF2

That Valve guy is right. The age of plattform wars is over. Its about choosing and accessing services now - now matter what hardware you have. You should get the same / very similar experience on it.

In 2 years we will have to choose if we want to subscribe to MW3 or BFBC3 ;) for 5-10EUR a month, while the game is free.

If Bobby Kotick is still president of activision, there is no way in hell a game would be free, even with a subscription fee.

Hmm... I know Valve said that any of there games available on Mac can be downloaded on either Mac or PC with one purchase, but will non-Valve companies do the same?

Probably depends on who does the port. If its done at the same time by the same dev team that does the PC version, probably. If its done by a 3rd party like Aspyre, then probably not.

Maybe they should be more concerned with getting the game to work on 360, PC, and PS3 before porting it to something else. :P

You should install smc fan control for your mac, and crank the fans up to near max. then RESTART (not shut down) and hold alt down, and open the windows partitions. Your fans will stay on now.
I made the mistake (Mac newbie here) of not realizing my fans didn't turn on when I booted up in Windows, and my computer always shut down because I just was a gamer in Windows. Was aggravating!

get the PC, macs are nice for what they do, but PCs have more 3rd party support, and you can use that extra $1000 to buy around 20 new PC games

I didn't know Core i5's were last years inventory? A 27" iMac is $2000. A Dell Studio XPS with a 23.5" monitor and 'similar' specs because they can't be made totally equal, is $1670. Still a $330 difference, but with a smaller monitor, and no web cam built in. I'd venture going from a 23.5" LCD to a 27" IPS LCD is going to be at least a $200 difference in price, so really, theres ~ $100 difference. Graphics are similar in that the iMac has a 4850 and the Studio has a 5770 Radeon. The 4850 is a little faster, but lacks the DX11 features.

@ Ian

Or you could, you know, build your desktop, and spend less than buying any pre-built and get an equally/more powerful machine.

@lan
The 4850 is not faster than the 5770, that was the 4870, and that's only a little bit faster currently, and with driver improvements for the 5770, the 5770 is catching up, not to mention the 4850 and 4870 can't really overclock, and the 5770 is an easy overclocker. I thought all macs came with Nvidia GPU's though.

Just checked apple's site, apparently they don't anymore, the highest priced imac uses the 4850, which really is a decent gpu, but it just doesn't match the 5770. Not to mention the 5770 uses up less power and is quieter, at least then the 4870, likely the 4850 too though.

The 4850 does consume more power than the 5770, while also being less powerful and more noisy. http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/video/radeon-hd5770-hd5750/5700_power3dm.png

Only happened to me once all weekend. The one connection issue is every time I'd turn on my Xbox for the first time, boot BC2, and try and join a multiplayer game, I'd get booted out to dashboard. This only happened for the first boot of the game, but it was pretty common for a bit.

you could extrapolate that to also say "any serious user has a windows partition anyway". 80% of Mac owners have one so they can say "I have a mac", but when they want to get shit done, they're booting into windows.

We do, but now we don't have to use it. I've been dreaming about the day I would never have to look at Windows again (because, oolz, the Mac partition is where we "get things done, and the Windows partition is where we go play games.... and nothing else).
