I'll assume that they hammer out the chain mail themselves, and then mo-cap it. It seems like the easiest way, right?!

"QA analyst Bruce Venne played 1,957.55 hours of Dragon Age PC in 5,352 games."

um...can someone clarify what this even means?

That they played 1900 hours over 5300 games. Probably a lot of quick runthroughs of all the various origins and option trees. There's a lot of possibilities there.

I assume it means in 5,352 sittings. Like, over a total of 5,352 individual sessions of playing the game, he managed to total up 1,957.55 hours of Dragon Age playtime.

It's very confusing wording.

They make chain mail from "scratch?" Does that mean they invent the universe first?

It's one of Carl Sagan's jokes, "To make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe."

Stupid comment is stupid.

Obviously he has the ability to scratch metal until it turns into a Chainmail.

It's the same as home made cooking or baking.

"Hey guys, try some of these pies I made all by myself"

Well, you didn't. You bought the ingredients separately and only had to add the finishing touches, in fact, you spent about 1/1000th of the time that was actually spent on cultivating and manufacturing the ingredients.

That almost annoys me as "I could care less". When I hear people say that, it really pisses me off. You could care less? Oh great, then you'll be interested in what i also have to say. Damn people and their poor grasp of negatives.

I am crazy though...

@hooch

Making something entails taking its components then converting those components into the desired product. So "I made this pie by myself" is a correct statement.

If you want to get hung up on semantics you can say, "No the oven and all your tools helped" but nobody cares about ovens and ovens don't require credit as they have no ego. So pointing that out only makes you an asshole.

I'm with you on the "I could care less" though.

"makes chain mail 'from scratch.'"

I feel particularly stupid that I first interpreted this to mean "makes chain letters 'from scratch.'" My initial reaction was, "Well, yeah, I guess most chain letter starters just copy and paste."

So, I make chainmaille from scratch (with proper / alternate spelling to differentiate from stupid email chain letters!). I'm teaching a class about it on May 4, so if you're interested in learning...
