Rock Band 3 out this holiday season

Rockband HAS and ALWAYS will be better than guitar hero.

Guitar Hero uses small 'toy looking' guitars and Rockband uses larger ones with better feel and look.
RB-1 GH-0

Rockband has drums that are durable and don't break down.
RB-2 GH-0

Rockband's DLC adds UNDERGROUND bands while Guitar Hero is purely mainstream.
RB-3 GH-1 (only because its a 50-50 when it comes to the mainstream vs. underground.)
Regardless I am UNDERGROUND ALL THE WAY!!

Guitar Hero does not let you import songs yet they release game after game so you can spend more time disc swapping vs actually playing (ok that was a little exaggerated) but seriously Activision.. Seriously?!?

BTW I started playing guitar hero first (and I used to be totally against it) but its just like my friend who I met on PSN she is a biologist and she is smart as hell but Videogames is just mindless fun and that's why I was able to just relax and actually enjoy those games. Then Rockband was released and it was just... better!

Should be fun!

There are plenty of things they could update for 3,
-More control over your bands design.
-More clothing choices (lets faces it after you buy the most expensive stuff there not a lot of reason for the money any more without adding more choices)
-New character animations (play a song over and over with the same crew and it always plays out exactly the same way. add more variety)
-Bring over the challenge stages from Lego Rock Band where the quality of your gameplay determines the on screen action.

Granted they also seemed like they wanted to teach you how to play guitar from the sound of things, and with the recent announcement of the new game that will feature a "real" guitar coming, They might be rushing to keep from being over shadowed. I have a feeling they were working on the exact same thing, But I really dont feel like that's going to work out for regular gamers. People just want to PLAY, not learn, otherwise they'd actually TRY to learn to do the work involved to play a real guitar.

What do you expect? Guitar Hero is like a burnt out KROQ song!

My biggest concern is how their new instruments will be packaged. I really don't want to shell out extra cash for new instruments and would rather just pick up the software.

But if what Dhali said about the guitars is true, I hope I can purchase one new guitar without worrying about new mics, extra guitars, or another drum set.

Would also like to see some of the features in GH5 make an appearance.

I don't care if activision milks their franchises more, it is still milking. Oh, look, a Greenday Rockband game too...

This is good news. I hope that I am allowed to export my songs and such. Lots of people are burnt out on the music genre, but I'm really not. With all honesty I can say that it's the only videogame that I'm really, really good at.

Looking forward to this.. I hope they're making a guitar/peripheral hybrid like Seven45's..

Hopefully RB3 have some better graphics and new controllers.
