we'll see how that pans out. more interesting will be how th Future Soldier (the game) and Socom 4 fare against one another...assuming they share similar release timeframes.

"It's being written by Tim Sexton, co-writer of Children of Men. "

Hopefully Tim is the Matt Damon and not the Ben Affleck of the duo that wrote Children of Men.

The actual movie itself will only cost Ubisoft about $5,000, the rest of the $8-10 million is earmarked for the DRM that will prevent people from watching this short film if they're offline.

Why would they do that? They can just make an intro cutscene or render a prelude video and include it with the game. There, now potential buyers have more of an incentive to buy.

$10 million for a live action prelude seems like a big waste of money for an audience that probably just wants to play the game

I personally appreciate the irony of real wars having cost less than that in some parts of the world. Well done.

They should just donate it all to Haiti Relief and get the rights from the government to set the next game there.

How about they just call the next one "Ghost Recon: a good squad based shooter like the first one, not the dumbed down FPS with stupid CPU squadmates and lame "future tech gimmicks" "

What? Too long?

Dunno. I like future (realistic) tech gimmicks.

The short-movie thing that came out before Assassins Creed 2 was spectacular, and definitely added something to my playthrough of the game. The graphics were amazing, and it was high quality.

Here's to hoping ubisoft can top themselves.

Considering it took Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy six years to make Logorama should we expect the same wait? Will they be calling it Ghost Recon: About Two Years Ago Soldier?
