Lego Universe beta invites being sent out

We're received a handful of tips, and Massively confirms it: beta invites for the surprisingly hype-worthy Lego Universe beta have started to roll out. It's something we entirely want in on.

But, alas, no invite for us. Our tips box is only a repository for our own sadness, as others regale us with tales of their conquests; their own acquired beta invites. No, it's fine -- don't worry about us. We're just going to sit in the corner, with our real-life Legos, pretending there are actual people behind those hopelessly optimistic smiles, willing to interact with us in a virtual world.

Hey - regular legos are awesome! The inner-kid in me is dieing to get my huge collection out of the garage and start having my own adventures again.

Of course, virtual legos are awesome as well. Still waiting for my invite...

We could make a list of people who read joystiq and get in and discover how much we hate each other in-game.

I just signed up. Wait till I get my key and we can all hate each other in unison.

I'm already in and downloading the game as we speak.

I installed the game earlier today. Too bad they have only a very few certain time windows currently for when you can play. Hope saying this hasn't already breached the NDA I signed.

WHY DON'T I HAVE ONE YET. I NEED THIS.

Seriously though, if my nostalgia goggles are working correctly I remember LEGO Island being the most awesome shit ever and this seems like a better, MMO version. Here's hoping it isn't TOO catered to the younger audience. Making an MMO where children can play can be tricky cause they need to protect the kids but still allow social play. Hopefully they can find a good balance.

Got one here as well. When I saw the email it got me more pumped than the announcement of Half-Life 2 release did (and that's saying a lot)

Well lookie here, got an invite. Patching right now, but first I have to go pee in a cup before I have time to play... and I'm going to play D&D tonight. So much fun, so little time =)

I got one, hooray! I can only play it Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday though. At least I won't be at work on the weekends to play it!

can you send me an invite? I've been waiting ages for one!

Doubt you'll be able to trade for a SC2 key, blizz are going straight through battle.net so they're tied to accounts, your best bet would be to make a battle.net account and go to the opt-in section and tick the starcraft box

I got one! Unfortunately the playing hours are surprisingly restrictive. 8-11am on Sundays? And that's east coast time. Hopefully they'll open up more as we go.

Definitely. I can't even seem to jump up a ledge 90% of the time, because it's so laggy.

Got one, its pretty entertaining but lacks directions. Anyone know how to sell items?

I haven't got in :S.
