Sony will announce the "official" name for its PlayStation Motion Controller during its main event tonight (7PM ET) at GDC. In the meantime, let's play a game!

According to our source, the official name for the device is one of the choices in the poll below -- we're not going to tell you which one, though. So ...

Agreed. It tells you what platform it's for, and what it does, and can be stated simply as PMC.

plain = straight forward

yeah it can mean simple too. but in the way he used it, I'd say it's straight forward.

I agree however, it's too long. Playstation Arc is what I would have gone with, short simple and it has a hard consonant.

move is too soft, when people say it quickly it's just going to sound like Playstation Moo

Based on that photo, I'd say it should be called the UltraVibe9000, or something like that.

Though 'Move' is the most accurate to what it does..

My vote is going toward arc. Although deep down in side, I would like it to be named the wand.

HandToy sounds pretty awesome... if Nintendo could get away with naming its console Wii, I think HandToy isn't so far-fetched.

PS3 is the grown up system for grown ups. The word toy will not be used.

Buta's got a point Lol. PS2 was "Eyetoy" till' PS3 came along with just "Playstation Eye".

I think the poll is stuck, because it was still 1 per category after my vote as well.

I voted HandToy, because it sounds like a euphemism for penis, and I really want that to be officially associated with the PS3.

But penis is already officially associated with the Wii and that will leave the Xbox360 as the only console without some association with penis.

I think the Xbox Live userbase contributes to the use of the word 'penis' enough for it to count...
