While some may bash Sony for once again mimicking Nintendo in the way of innovation, I must commend them here as they are joining the fight to rid video gaming of the right analog stick that has for 2 generations divided and segregated the industry and business as a whole.

Death to dual analog!

If you think PS4 is shipping with a dual analog controller you are sadly mistaken sir.

@Cody

And if you think I want to play with a Wii Remote/Nunchuk/Playstation Move as my only option next year, then you are sadly mistaken.

Just because you don't like Dual Analog doesn't mean everyone else hates it. There are actually a lot of people who prefer it to the Wii's setup, and some who even prefer it over the mouse/keyboard setup.

For me it works perfectly fine (except in maybe games like UT2004, where zoom instagib would be hard to keep up with), and it's more comfortable overall.

I'm not saying no one likes dual analog, i'm saying a lot more people don't like it as opposed to the ones that do. Please see Wii's sales numbers since 2006 for proof. Sony sure did.

Some of you elitist clowns on this site seem to be having a difficult time with this transition period in the industry. This too shall pass!

I think you'll probably find that those who self-identify as being 'gamers' tend to prefer dual analog to motion control.

Motion control may be (very) popular with the general populace, but there will *always* be room for non-waggle gaming for 'core' gamers.

Cody is in the same boat as me. Dual-analog isn't useless, or terrible. Just don't expect to accurately play a FPS game on it. Wiimote/Nunchuk, Keyboard/mouse and now Move are all 10x more accurate and responsive than the barbaric Dual-analog controllers for FPS games. Any other style of game isn't so bad, but FPS console games have suffered long enough. Its time to grab the fantastic controls of games like Metroid Prime Trilogy, and augment those controls onto HD FPS games of the HD consoles. Move FTW!

@ Cody's argument using sales number:

So your argument is that:

People who buy Wiis do not like Dual Analog controls.

Your evidence is:

More Wiis were sold than PS3s.

Therefore:

More people prefer the Wii's controls.

I took that debate class by in university. I believe that's called an 'Affirming the Consequent' fallacy. It's like saying "If I have the flu, then I have a sore throat. I have a sore throat. Therefore, I have the flu."

Even without agreeing with one side or the other, your argument is still BULLSHIT.

The lack of a light bulb on it means it won't be tracked, hence it will not have motion sensing?? Or am i awfully wrong here?

That's weird, i was sure they'd go for dual motion controllers. So it looks like games that will use two PS Moves (ugh) will either be on-rails "insert genre" or you won't have to move at all.

you can have 2 of the Move controllers at once for some of the games, im just wondering what happens when that little ball on top gets broken off.

@Nekki I believe at E3 last year for Resident Evil 5 they had the Move controlling the aiming and firing while you just used a Dual Shock 3 or Sixaxis to control the movement. I assume you can do the same in Socom 4, as they said "the optional sub-controller".
