They could always just do what Codemasters did with Colin Mcrae games and EA with Tony Hawks and just start calling the game GoLF....though that would seem somewhat daft :P

EA was one of the few companies to not drop their endorsement of Tiger Woods.

Whether you hate what the guy has done with his personal life, you can't deny that he's been a dominant player through the years.

It really is amazing that EA has virtually no competition in the golf videogame segment.

What's the playstation 3 golf game... hot shots golf? I played that at a friends house and thought it was much better than the EA golf game. Golf is something that is so much better to actually go out and do. Unlike Nascar or football, where there are some advantages to the gaming experience, most anyone can actually golf without injury or great investment. So a golf game needs to add something other than realism. My opinion. I don't really care. Natal seems really sweet, except it reminds me a lot of the Eye and Eyetoy (which were totally overhyped).

Another guess would be that the Move is far more similar to a Wii remote with Motion Plus, so figuring out how to implement it well is a hell of a lot easier than it would be with Natal.

Not just that, but it would be virtually impossible to play without something acting as a golf club analogue. The Natal's biggest downfall as a gaming device is it's lack of controller.

If this thing is suppose to ship this fall then why wouldn't they have the dev kits for it already?

I think its more like they are trying to get it to work as good as WM+ and Move....they latency may be a factor there....

Yeah I don't get how that would work anyway. Some games you just need a physical controller, for the FEEL of it. Like FEELING that guy's mama in the back of the minivan, or something.

It makes more sense for Natal to forge its own path anyway. Natal is a bigger departure, and its going to need far more unique experiences to make itself worthwhile

The point of saying that is that: yes, it looks bad that Natal is getting passed over for these multiplats, but ultimately it could be helpful for the platform.

I don't see how this game would work with Natal unless they figured out how to get that scanning of real world objects and making them usable game props. Although, potentially that spells disaster for some tv sets.

Natal seems fundamentally different than Wii and Move, probably the less try to shoehorn Wiimote controls onto it the better.

I really don't see why they can't have this on Natal other then the fact Natal may take longer to release, I mean, there must be other ways to make up for the lack of controller, even Tiger himself rarely uses his golf balls and club, he has other balls to use that he spends time with in special types of clubs :/ We could simply do the same, who cares if its not quite golf, who cares if it gets an 18+ rating, at least it will be multiplat :D

Damn brah. I was hoping there was a mini-game where I could drive my $80,000 truck into a tree and then get out and try explain it off as me just being stressed while being geeked out. Kinda like GTA drunk person simulator, but this one would be much more Visceral!

Natal and Move are going be the downfall of Multi platform games, since that they are two very different types of motion controllers it would soon have devs working on different games for the two different systems and both they and the publishers i believe will end up having their preferences on which is the better one to develop for, which would mean they would put much more effort and resources on one platform or another.

I love my Xbox don't get me wrong i play it 10 to 1 compared to my other consoles but i believe Move looks much better than Natal, and it is coming out nearer to the PS3s maturity of it cycle where as the Xbox is on its way down and i believe after Natal is releases in no more than a year i think MS should release a brand new Xbox but still have full support for natal included with it.

Move and Wii controls will be exactly the same, so it's pretty easy to have it on both of those. Natal is an entirely different beast. I just don't think they figured out a way to make it work that well. I believe them when they say that future installment of the series will be on Natal.

This is only the beginning for this type of story. It reminds me of PS3/360 having the same developer and then an entirely different team making the Wii version. Now you will see a lot of PS3/Wii games developed together and the 360 version on it's own. Weird.

I don't see how golf will work with Natal. Will you have to buy a plastic golf club? I just don't see it working well if you just have your arms swinging.

I'm not super excited by Playstation Move, but I could see a lot more developers working on it. Especially after last night. It is pretty much going to be a Wiimote and nunchuk. So, any game someone develops for the Wii, can also do a PS3 version. Someone making a Natal game can only sell it on Xbox 360. Then again, PS3 owners have to buy the Move setup, which means a small subset will even have it. I already have the PS Eye, so I might buy it. I'll probably pick up Natal as well just to see how it works. :-)

At any rate, looks like this is yet another year that I'll be bypassing the TW PGA Tour game.
