I guess this was a good time for me to have bought the 1st two games on Steam to finally get the chance to play.

First game? Most definitely.

2nd game? Eh. People tend to not like it, but its still fun to play.

I have some high hopes for this game though, even though the original creator isn't behind its development.

" taking the common aesthetics of cyberpunk and blending them with those of the European Renaissance.."

Or in other words- steampunk? If so then that is a very different kind of style than I expected, but should be really interesting nonetheless. Been playing through the first game again after the Steam sale on Monday- still a classic game.

Not at all. Steampunk implies steam-powered, analog mechanical machinery. Cyberpunk implies a more advanced power-source, and electronic/digital machinery. The aesthetics of the two genres are actually very, very different.

Steampunk is purely victorian. Victorianism and Renaissance are two completely different aesthetics.

Also, the Renaissance had no steam-powered technology.

"bad shit going down at the 'Ton, bro"

the first game was really amazing for it's time. Barely played the second. This sounds intruiging though...

This is the best thing to come out of GDC for me, no question. Screw the Playstation Move, GIVE ME CYBERPUNK!

I still haven't finished the original Deus Ex or Invisible War though. I now have renewed desire to go play them.

If they have, you'll at least have a chance to get an awful third person cover system on top of it.

Denton? This is Walton Simons. What an expensive mistake you turned out to be. I've ordered the troops to kill you since, quite frankly, I don't have the patience for one of those damn killswitches to work.

I'm fairly excited to see how the game turns out. Haven't played the first two yet so I can't really say much about it, but what I've heard has piqued my interest (cyberpunk, conspiracies, punching through walls to grab people on the other side).
