So you have Modern Warfare, Battlefield AND SOCOM in my Medal of Honor?

"Medal of Honor unapologetically follows in the footsteps of Call of Duty" ....
i know for a fact MOH was around first, on PS and PC, i used to play the shit outta the PC game and spearhead and the other add on. Kinda lost touch with the whole war game thing....

can someone verify if this statement is even remotely true? did MOH copy off of COD in the later games?

As long as DICE are involved, this will be a must-buy.

I gotta love how the ridiculous, fanboyish "It's not cool to like Modern Warfare" thing has even transferred over into a Joystiq preview about Medal of Honor. You wanna bash the game like ass fine, but can you at least do it in a forum dedicated to Call of Duty, and not some other game?

Yes MW2 was short. Yes it was over the top. Yes it was less serious. Yes the story was typical and cliche. But the hatred for the game is being taken way, way out of proportion. The game had a very quality campaign in my opinion with a lot of action, a lot of intense combat, in interesting plot that I wanted to get to the bottom of, and even a few sections that were more serious and mood affecting, such as the airport scene and the invasion of DC.

Medal of Honor on the other hand seems to be taking a more serious approach. This is neither a good thing nor a bad thing. It's just different. The final execution will decide if the game is better then MW2, and even that will be left up to opinion at the end of the day. Regardless, I'm looking forward to it, and not as the "sequel to MW1" because MW2 was horrible or some nonsense like that. I'm looking forward to it because it looks good and the guys at EA LA and DICE seem like they know what they're doing.

I think the new MoH looks better than MW2. I liked CoD4, did not like MW2. I hope this is good.

As far as I'm concerned there was no Modern Warefare 2. Just some shitty game, developed by a cocky-ass developer that forgot its humble roots, that ripped off MW and made the campaign and multiplayer so ridiculously over the top (in a bad way) it actually made me despise a developer that I've adored for the last 5 years.

I never want to play another IW developed Call of Duty game again. Ever.

This medal of honor game is looking really promising.

I don't understand why people are so upset with MW2's campaign. MW's campaign wasn't anything to write home about either, so people played that game for multiplayer. I know there are people out there who never touched multiplayer but I have to believe they are in the very small minority. It's the same way with MW2 - people bought it for the multiplayer which provides an addictive experience.

This seems like the kind of thing that happened with Halo 3. People ragged on the MP but it seemed to come mostly from people who put days of time in Halo 2 online, so it comes as no surprise.

I actually loved COD4's campaign and couldn't stand the online. I haven't bothered to finish MW2 yet, because it felt like a crappy copy of COD4, just like WaW was.

I didn't care much for the story, didn't really pay attention to it, but the levels were very memorable and very fun. It was also my first PS3 game, so technically my first current-gen, HD game, which I'm sure added to my enjoyment. But even replaying it, I still love the standout missions (the ship, the bomb, the sniper mission w/ the tanks, etc).

To be honest, I have found every CoD game to be lackluster, and mindless running an gunning. I am glad we finally have a real Battlefield game. 2142 and Bad Company 1 just sucked so bad, but with Bad Company 2, a masterpiece has been found.

With Medal of Honor, I am hoping for a more serious, darker story. Something bound in the world of realism. With DICE's just released BC2, I hope they break away from how tight the class system and make something equally engaging. But I don't want to have two games with identical multiplayer. Please do not pull an Activision, EA.

No one knows what modded down means. You got voted down because people think what you said is stupid. Thats how it works here.

Expect EA to knock this one out of the park, they have sat on the sidelines since MoH Allied Assault and watched IW take the cake since CoD2.
Will be funny to see if it does turn out to be better then MW1 or 2, I'm sure by then IW will rush another CoD title and have MW3 by the time MoH releases.
Rushed games = epic failures.

I wish they kept the controls from MOH Airborne, at least the part when you bring up iron sights. I liked that. Run and gun is just not realistic, and it was a nice change from every other game. Oh well, I'll still buy.

Wish they would incorporate some of the gameplay elements of the SWAT game series into these type of games. The run n' gun style gets boring real quick. Give people who apply proper tactics an advantage, you should not force people to go through a SP story at breakneck speeds.
