Does your dead-eyed Home avatar lack a bit of that buccaneering spirit? LucasArts has a sure-fire way to fix your lack of nautical flair: During its pirate-themed party at GDC, the company announced that Monkey Island costumes (pictured above) would soon make their way to PlayStation Home.
Now, we rarely get excited over virtual duds for our virtual manifestations -- but Stan's coat could really add a certain savoir-faire to our terrifying craft.
Everyone was bashing it then cause it really didn't have any worthwhile content that would make one want to spend their free time in Home rather than just playing a PS3 game. I think it's fair to continue to criticize it since it has had plenty of time to grow and expand yet still boils down to an avatar and a few costumes (at least it did last time I logged on). It's free so it's kind of hard to complain, but it still doesn't really offer anything all that enticing (at least not in my opinion).
wow, seriously? it's free. home doesnt need some fancy bullcrap, cause how much did you pay for it? none. do you have to pay for online as well? nope. and besides, they are trying to improve it, are they not.
It wasn't meant to be obnoxious, it was a joke. In all seriousness I haven't seen much of anything about Home in a while so I didn't realize this Home bashing problem was so rampant. I'll lay off next time... wouldn't want to start anything...
The "Home still exists" bit is indeed tired, but it's also sorta indicative of the state of Home. It's in this weird limbo where, yeah, they keep adding costumes and living spaces, but it's also clearly on the back-burner and not being used to its full potential. I swear, every week the thing takes longer to load in and for what?
I use Home more than the average gamer out there, so I'd be the last to say it needs to go. However, Sony really needs to revamp their plan on it (if they even have one).
No big deal. I can see how it could be construed as obnoxious given there's no context for me to show my tone. Not to mention, none of you had the context to know my opinion is deeper than "Home is stupid." Like I said before, it's free so there's really no reason for me to complain, but even with it freely available whenever I want I never find myself motivated to use it.
Home is pointless. I can view trailers and play demos from the crossbar menu. why load up a huge environment and waste time (and money on costumes and stupid virtual crap) when I could be playing games? I guess I'm too old to be Sony's core audience in Home.
