Well...that does seem awful fast for a BioWare game. Unless they were doing ME2, Awakening, and DA2 all at once?

Not to mention some obscure MMO they are rumored to be working on.

they also have several different studios. So it's not like the Mass Effect guys are taking time off to work on The Old Republic

BioWare is a Canadian company, so couldn't be Jan. 2, 2011?

Wouldn't make much sense though.

It is the U.S. copy of the game and would not use Canadian dating.

It doesn't make sense that they would start advertising a GOTY edition before all of the content that would be included in it is even released. That would just give people further incentive to not buy the DLC that hasn't been released yet.

Also, why would you waste money including advertising for a GOTY edition within the expansion that would presumably be included in it? Those aren't the people you need to convince to buy your GOTY edition.

Awakening has been finished for a while now.

They have proven their ability to simultaneously work on two epic RPGs at the same time (ME2 and DE:O).

There's no way in @#$% they will wait 11 months to release another expansion AND/OR the GOTY edition. This is a new game without a doubt.

Given the risque posture of the dragon, it's probably the hotly anticipated Dragon Age porno.

Funny. It takes a bunch of booster packs, and two full expansion packs just to barely reach Final Fantasy 13's epic adventure with over 100 hours of gameplay.

And you call this an RPG.

The difference is the FF 13 takes the "PLAYING" out of Role Playing Game.

And the role playing since it's effectively a storyline that doesn't really have any realisation of choice.

100 hours? try 30 hours of interactive movie playing. FFXIII stripped out everything that made an RPG and replaced it with some pretty CGI and extreme dodgy voice acting. Real FFXIII gameplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3MuEJDHb7E

FFXIII gets better after 15 hours, you can actually press 2 buttons instead of just X.

JRPG's are really starting to die when compared to WRPG's like DA:O and Mass Effect.

if all that stuff about the game being finished in March 09 and the rest of the time was it being optimized for consoles, I'd say February 2011 is a pretty fair target for a full sequel. I think Dr. Blight's dead on with the full spread of the dragon as opposed to the usual side profile. Didn't some exec basically say there'd be a sequel by then too? I know they said "something far reaching for ME2" but they hinted at DA too didnt they?

Probably another really good but really short game with little content out of the box and $300 worth of DLC 2 months after launch.

I know most people feel the other way around, but I have to say that Western RPGs with themes like Dragon Age are embarrassing for me to play. The voice acting and whole universe is just so cheesy. I look over at my girlfriend after some incredibly bad dialogue and go... "I'm sorry you had to hear that, please still have sex with me". I bought DA:O and it took three tries to get into it after the darkness that was new game plus-ing Demon's Souls 4 times. I'm now 15 hours into Final Fantasy XIII, and can say I am enjoying it exponentially more than Dragon Age. Lemmings.

You are a disgrace to the name Wayne. Neither Claudia Black nor Simon Templeman's voice acting could ever be anything close to cheesy. How anyone can criticize dragon age's voice acting and dialogue and in the same paragraph sing the praises of FF13 is beyond me. Nice job being a total cock by calling people who disagree with you lemmings btw.

well the dragon isnt holding a literal baby in it's arms, and I'm pretty sure most people here aren't certified dragon gynecologists so you're going to have to cut us some slack

I am super excited about dragon age II. I was a little disappointed with the awakening. I liked being able to talk to party members when we were out and about. I also would like to see more sexual interaction. it all helped shape dragon age. the graphics were great and quests good too. I am looking forward to see what they create next.
